ref’s report will be interesting. 12 mins added time says he knew they were raking the piss. In particular their keeper. So where was his booking for it?

And from Sky Sports

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom to Sky Sports: "Spurs are a very good team, and we had to really defend well but also when we could, we played. We created chances ourselves and up until the very end we limited Spurs to efforts from outside the box.

"Sometimes you've got to accept you're going to give some things away. We defended our box very well and went in front, missed a couple of really good chances ourselves, so to lose a game in that way is really cruel. But it doesn't change our performance.

"Now I want to focus on the performance, we did that today.

"We had to concentrate all game, it was a fatigue thing, the pressure they put on us. They had to take a few more risks so their shape slightly changed. But it's two lapses and we've been beaten 2-1.

"It is what it is, but we've got to focus on the performance. We were close to getting three points, then one and then it slipped away. But like I said to the players, we've got to keep focusing on us and what we do.

"Something needs to be done now. And this is not me moaning, I said it half-time and when we were 1-0 up as well. The focus is on timewasting so the referees are dictating how we play. We set up from the back, then Spurs push forward and then that dictates how we play. But no, we're just told to play long. You can't do it.

"Wes (Foderingham) got a yellow card for handling outside the box and then got threatened with a sending off (for timewasting) you can't do it. The officiating is appalling, and it's not about the football decisions, it's just game management.

"My worry is all the focus is on yellow cards for time wasting and when I talked to the referees they haven't got a clue what I'm talking about. they're officiating the game, they simply do not know the game.

"We need to sort that and sort that quick. It's ruining the spectacle. And then to sum it all up we get Ollie McBurnie sent off for telling the referee someone is pulling his shirt. We've just seen someone lead with an elbow into our goalkeeper who needs stitches and that's the same offence. What's going on, seriously what's going on with our game?"

More from Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom: "It was an appalling game the way it was managed. I know Spurs won the football match but I was saying the same thing at 0-0. At half-time I came to see the referee, when we were 1-0 I was saying the same things.

"The referees are dictating to our goalkeeper how we play. You see from minute one we split, Spurs adjust what they do so we have to adjust again. All of a sudden our keeper is booked for handling outside and he's told he's going to get another yellow if he doesn't play the ball.

"But we have to wait and see how Spurs are going to stop us playing out before he can make a decision. They don't understand what I'm saying to them and they're refereeing a game in the top flight. Peter Banks' a good guy, but this is nothing new. It's sad.

"Wes (Foderingham) got jumped into by a player who turned his back and led with his elbow, stitches. Deemed the same offence by the referee as Ollie McBurnie saying someone is pulling his shirt. Where are we going? Where are we going? It's tough for me, we all love the game but the people who know the least about football are directing where the game is going. And that's what I can't take.

"Crazy. Absolutely barmy, but we're letting these guys run our game and we need to stop them."

It’s bullshit that because he was on a yellow for handball, he knew he could take the piss and wouldn’t get a second for time wasting. Book him again and send the **** off. Keepers won’t stop doing it until then.

I really don't blame Sheff Utd for all the time wasting and shithousing, but the times have changed. In the past they'd have got away with it, but not any more. Proper time is being added on and this time their negative tactics has bitten them hard in the arse. Any other result would have been a travesty, and they know it.

Never actively hated Sheffield United until today. The way they played was dirty and so dark. Foderingham wasted time every chance he got. He should have had a second yellow umpteen times and booked before he handled outside the box. Most of their players went down in the second half, especially after they scored.

There was 12 minutes added time because of it and should have been much more than 3 at the end of the first half.

Karma is a ****. Hope they go down.

This was my first game at WHL in a year. My previous visits were a drab 1-0 win against Wolves last season and a 1-0 loss to Brighton at the back end of 21-22 season.

The atmosphere today was incredible, not at all like the drab football and quiet fans under Conte.

He is totally right to question the referee but his points are absolutely stupid. VDV didn’t lead with his elbow, so he can fuck right off with this one. McBurnie doesn’t just politely enquire either.

Massive questions have to be asked about the yellow for the handball outside the box. If he doesn’t do it Kulu is on it. So isn’t that denying a goal scoring opportunity?

How was their keeper allowed to strip off gloves and all, walk towards the touch line for a sub and miraculously run back on, then take his sweet time getting rechanged and getting the ball back into play. It’s suck blatant time wasting it’s a joke.

This is the message I sent my son earlier during the game regarding the time-wasting.
Blades keeper already booked for handling outside the area, they're discussing whether her should get a further booking for time-wasting. Commentator said the ref would be a brave man to do it. Aren't we supposed to be using brave men not afraid of making big calls as ref?

Last season it would have been 4 or 5 minutes extra time. Today it was 16 minutes (or whatever) and their time wasting ultimately cost them the game, and rightly so.

I was expecting 10 extra minutes at the end of the game today, I thought that was about what it would be considering how much time they wasted so was chuffed when I saw 12 on the board, plenty of time for us that we lost in the game to wasting time. it's not a tactic, it's a piss take and needs to be punished.

I don't mind and understand it when you're winning as the game nears the end, but it's doing it from minute one at 0-0. It's a piss take when teams do that from the off as if they don't want to play the game of football.

Dier cutting a lonely figure there. Feel for him.

He's getting paid, is on a contract and was offered loans (one to Burnley but i may be wrong).

Hard to feel sorry for a footballer told he won't get game time but refuses to move to play?

Before this season the ball was in play a stupidly low % of the 90 minutes (I think it was 60-65%), fans are paying a fucking lot of money to go to matches and for TV subscriptions, and we deserve to see good value for that outlay...Im fed up with watching some turdy relegation fodder team intentionally whittling the 90 minutes away.

Officials get a right shoeing normally, but it’s absolutely right what they’re finally being instructed to do.
