"Wes (Foderingham) got a yellow card for handling outside the box and then got threatened with a sending off (for timewasting) you can't do it. The officiating is appalling, and it's not about the football decisions, it's just game management.

"My worry is all the focus is on yellow cards for time wasting and when I talked to the referees they haven't got a clue what I'm talking about. they're officiating the game, they simply do not know the game.

"We need to sort that and sort that quick. It's ruining the spectacle.
Doing everything you can to avoid putting the ball back into play is time-wasting, dress it up as game management if you like but there's a time when it goes past game management, when that time is added on and comes back to bite you on the arse then own it. The spectacle (let's call it the fan experience) wasn't as important to Heckingbottom as the one point they came with, then the three points and then the one point they may have left with, the spectacle only became important once the'd lost and he needed a scapegoat.

EDIT: I've heard Ben Foster is available as a specialist game management coach if Heckingbottom is looking to tweak his system.

I am home from the game and it was a real lesson learnt, Sheffield United defended resolutely and we had trouble breaking them down. The subs were spot on, until Richarlison, and Johnson for that matter, we didn't have much of a presence in the box, those two changed that with their challenging and their defenders got nervous. Hojbjerg for a CB was clever as we didn't need defenders by then and PEH played some clever stuff. Perisic oozed professionalism when he came on and they were then at sixes and sevens.
The most crucial thing about today was our relentless determination to get the win.

The change in atmosphere and mood is simply unbelievable - I had a great time there today, absolutely buzzing despite us making hard work of it!

Fantastic wasn't it, pandemonium!
Great thing was that far into added time the place was still absolutely packed nobody had left.
When they scored, the fans didn't boo, they got behind the team.

Another great atmosphere. It did go a bit flat in the 2nd half at times, but the end was epic.

On the train home from Paddington to Devon now (just about: I didn’t want to leave). The south atrium was buzzing after the game and then I took a short trip up to the East Upper for another sing song. Right now, I’ve never known our fan base to be so united, euphoric and proud!

The equaliser from Richie, you couldn’t write that: then his involvement for Deki’s winner is Roy of the rovers stuff. The scenes were incredible, carnage, lost my head phones; travelled 10 rows down in the south.

We deserved that win, no doubt but absolutely did not expect that ending. There’s something special in the air at the club right now and we have to keep it going: relentless. If every home game is going to feel like a rock concert from now that’s a win win. I love this club so much.
