Remember the meltdown on here when we signed him as the "cheap" option instead of spending £40m on Raya?
Raya would have been positively chuffed to come away with only the couple of ropey passes tonight neither of which cost us anything after the reaming he took the other night.

Yep and people were quick to have a go at him after the opening game at Brentford.

He’s made a fantastic start to his Spurs career.

Guilty as charged, quite clearly the highlights reel I watched didn’t do him justice.
Just wish he’d stick someone inside his near post on corners…😬🤣

Yeah, that YC Vic got was farcical considering the ref didn't even book Palhinha once for the several fouls he committed.

I assume it was for time wasting, which after that Sheffield Utd game is just weird.

Gives Schneichal vibes at the moment. He looks like he will earn us points this season and is a leader

You Dear Sir are exaggerating.... there was never a melt down... eye brows raised? YES, questions asked of Levy going for the cheaper alternative? YES, going for an unknown quantity to replace Hugo? YES......Ignoring a proven home grown keeper who would cost more ? YES .. very different from a melt down. All very legitimate questions. incidently my initial reactions were Huerhelo Gomes vibes ( 1st game or so on tour) very happy for those fears to be unfounded.

There was a complete Melt down when we hadn't signed a striker before going on the tour... that was a melt down.... how we were setting up Ange Postecoglou for failure blah blah blah... look where we are now.

Does anyone know where I need to post my apology letter? I wrote it a few games ago but it's starting to turn into a love letter now.

Yeah that's to be expected with a new player after all.... same way people would praise a new player and label them world class when I truth they not close..... I haven't read back but I doubt people wrote him off.

I was doubtful....but he's growing on me with each passing game...by his 3rd PL game my initial fears had disappeared.

I said on here that Levy was taking the cheap option when we ended out interest in Raya and moved to Vicario. I couldn't have been more wrong and I'm happy to have been proved so.

Comparing him and Raya just helps prove the theory that there's often very little value to be had in signing players from other premier league teams. Sure they're "proven", but they're also usually massively overpriced.
