His willingness to involve the crowd and get us pumped up makes such a big difference. Same with several players including Maddison and Porro. They really know when and how to use the crowd

Gabbanini.

I have zero idea why he left but it's certainly a shame when he had such involvement in the likes of Vicario. Vic has been absolutely brilliant so far, long may it continue 👏🏼
I don't doubt it was Gabbanini but Vicario's talent was hardly a secret. It would be like saying that City discovered Grealish when he was already a known quantity at Villa. We just choose to take the gamble

Very true, I just hadn't heard of him before and I watch a decent amount of football (albeit not much Serie A). I know plenty at the club would have known plenty about him.

I understand.
I know many wouldn't have heard of him but when you've got Gianluigi Buffon calling you the best keeper in the country you know people are watching

I didn’t know much about him before tbh, but like hotspur, don’t watch much Italian football.

probably my favourite signing of the summer, was just watching some of his clips back, literally has the whole lot, footwork, power, reactions, brave…..

Funny that he was seen as the second best goal keeper in Italy and the number 1 onana has absolutely flopped

Onana has always been dodgy though, like always has been. Staggered United got rid of de gea and replaced him with this keeper.

only thing I can think of is onana played for ten hag at ajax

Onana being in goal for Ajax was one of the main reasons we came back in that game, he was woeful in that second half

Another Paratici master class?
As I said repeatedly when we signed him it was Gabbanini who pushed for this. Perhaps his prickly nature and refusing to back down when others are saying otherwise above his head had it's up sides????

That money saved, could have meant the difference in being able to get VdV or having to get a cheaper lesser option..........

He looks much better than Raya to me. A better shot stopper, more confident and dare I say it at least as good with his feet.

The only real criticism of him so far is I'd like him to be a little more pro-active coming off his line for crosses.

But as we were constantly being told by all the Utd fans, who before the season started, were convinced they were going to give City a run for their money “he is much better than DeGea with the ball at his feet”.
I think they became obsessed with this forgetting about his weakness in stopping the ball going into his net.

He is better with his feet, no doubts, but not that much 😂

Too far back for me to remember in the transfer window Trix, a lot has happened since then! ;)

At least they listened to him in the end.

Just a stunning shot stopper so far. It's like he can smell the area the ball's going to go to. Just pure keeper intelligence.

...just protect that keeper brain and don't let him head a ball ever again!
