Time will tell obviously but the score we have looks to be at the very least competitive. They have to bat last which adds value to the score we have already. Could be the sort of wicket where you see a team bowled out for 150 odd.The fact the low order are chipping in with runs with Robinson 30 odd not out suggests the pitch is flattening out and we have not seen anymore uneven bounce.
get 350 and bowl well with the new ball as they did will set the match up nicely
tbf Bumrah isn’t the easiest bowler to try and reverse sweep/ramp!I think that's part of the reason for the understated celebration. Being the competitive animal that he is he'll have a niggle that he didn't conquer Bumrah
Not out for meThird umpire jumped to the conclusion that the ball didn’t carry… someone needs to send him the video that explains the optical illusion of the ball hitting the ground. His decision was far too quick. And where was the soft signal??
I’m undecided, but I learnt a while ago that the ball can look like it hits the ground when it doesn’t, they did a great piece of Sky a while back explaining it, where they showed an angle of what looked the ball touching the ground, but then showed that it actually had fingers (I’m aware that this is glove!).Not out for me
I think if there is that much doubt then it has to go to the batsmen. These decisions never look any clearer the longer you look. Solution is for WK and slips to come forward a step or 2 and eliminate the doubt.I’m undecided, but I learnt a while ago that the ball can look like it hits the ground when it doesn’t, they did a great piece of Sky a while back explaining it, where they showed an angle of what looked the ball touching the ground, but then showed that it actually had fingers (I’m aware that this is glove!).
The decision was far too quick though… Only looked at one angle and there was no soft signal.

Yeah but we have an end open now so keep it tight, starve him of the strike and chip away at the other end. This Jaiswal is freakishly good. England need him back in the shed relatively soon after tea, I think.
If ever a team epitomises their skipper it’s this England side, a true reflection of Stokes the man and the cricketer. Never beaten and never give up.After the third test I was overcome by pessimism and thought we were heading for a real pasting, but it’s been a great performance from the lads…..so far!.
