Lucky to be one-up - no doubt.
Defensive shape is a mess.
MoPo MUST change it - if he doesn't - then he really isn't seeing the game for what it is and has been sucked in by the fact we go in one-up.
Go back to 4 at the back.
Aurier is so far out of position as a wing back - it will cost us.

I thought Winks was absolute class. Ball retention, skill and drive. First start since a serious injury.

He is going to be a starter for us soon. The most dynamic we have in the middle of the park and loads of talent.

I thought id give Sissoko a clean slate. Nah. He is gash. No idea what he offers other than being a body on the pitch.

I dont think Son suits playing central. Much better off the left.

Would keep it as it is for now. Would get Llorente on with 20 to go and drop Kane deeper for Sissoko.

Why even type that?
He was brilliant last season - is one of the most highly rated young players in the country - had a horrific injury and is playing his first start of the season - give the guy a break and try to understand the game, especially after a long lay off. Geez.

Spot on. I think he'll become England's first choice centre midfielder this season...assuming Southgate suddenly becomes a manager who knows what he's sort of doing!

We've been awful, no way are we going to be that bad second half.

This bodes well considering we're winning.

Seriously is Winks the best we have got as Ericksen's back up, guy is poor

Classic stuff:

Winks isn't Eriksen's back-up
He's a very good player and is incredibly young to be starting away Champion's League games
He's playing perfectly fine
You can't even spell Eriksen's name properly

Proper shitpost that one, you knocked the bails right off.

You are going to struggle to keep up with the number of times your post is quoted....... He's the only one i'v eseen put some decent diagonals in. Given his lack of games, I think the boy is doing well. He is also playing a totally different role to Eriksen....

Has to swap Trippier and Aurier. You'd fancy Trips to make something of one or two of the numerous chances Aurier has had.

I'd sub Sissoko for anyone on the bench. Even Vorm.

Midfield looks very disjointed and Trippier is entirely ineffective on the left. I'd take off Sissoko and Trippier for GKN and TOB. Go 4 at the back in a 433 or 4231. We should take Trippier off soon anyway to save him for Saturday as Aurier has a red card ban.

I think winks has done well.what i like about him is he looks for a forward pass first.

Midfield looks disjointed.

Several times balls have gone between Dier, Winks, and sometimes Sissoko where we should easily win the ball yet no one goes for it.

Seems like there's a big communication problem.
No Eriksen. Players are playing out of position all over the pitch. It’s really no mystery why.

Still always amazes me how commentators never really discuss how poor Lloris is with his feet. Admittedly Glen touched on it there but it's usually just a "Oooh Lloris makes an uncharacteristic mistake there" from commentators. It's really not uncharacteristic
Because he is not, he just asked to do a more difficult role than other keepers so he makes more obvious distribution mistakes. It sticks in peoples memory more and people forget the amount of times he does it well.

Literally a lot of our goalkeeping coaching is all about how the goal keeper distributes the ball, its incredibly important for Poch. I have no doubt if Poch thought Lloris wasn't good with his feet he would be out the door pretty sharpish.

Lloris is actually very good at doing what expects in large part because he will continue to try and distribute the ball as Poch demands even after making mistakes.

Here is an article on Lloris and his distribution.

What a load of tosh. We haven't turned up and look like we playing a pre season friendly against Manchester City. Ponderous and we would rather pass sideways and backwards, ignoring people in yards of space in between the lines or ignoring the runs along the back line.

Harry 'can't score in Europe' Kane with his 5th CL goal, and currently our third highest scorer in European football history.
