when he's on Talskport I have to switch off. Just can't listen to those levels of delusion and that stupid scouse accent
He has just said the reason Klopp has not strengthened at the back is because he has not been backed financially. Perhaps Klopp could have spent some of the £120mil he has laid out on the 3 midfielders they have just bought.

A bit from KUMB

If we click we're good enough to beat Spurs.

Spurs will play a third string for this. Their fans couldn't give a **** about it. We will lose.

Tbf they should care though as it's their only chance of a trophy like us.

Spurs supporting mates I know couldn't care less about it either, so probably the first game between us that won't get any 'banter' before or after

Tott 2nd string v Our strongest XI 3-0. More misery.

-------------------------------------Vorm
Trippier-------------Sanches-----------Foyth----------Davies

That team would probably come 7th in the PL.Have no idea how spurs have assembled such a squad on pretty much £0m net spend.City have more options offensively, but overall it’s probably the best squad in the league.Whats foyth like? Know nothing about him Apart from him being young.

We're going to win this.

Pains me to say it, but they are a fantastic team at the mo - watched the game yesterday and the passing, commitment, passion, speed of play is something to behold - they are light years ahead of us on the pitch.

Like bookends we opened the weekends TV with an appalling display against Brighton - they closed the weekends action with a great display against Liverpool - we're light years apart.

cue "why don't you **** off and support Spurs then you ****er"..

They put 4 past Liverpool yesterday. I dread to think what they might do to us, especially as we seem to be at an all time low, confidence-wise.

I watched on in envy also , Mart - and anyone who says ' Go support , Spurs then ' is also envious but won't admit it , if people can marvel at Barcelona and can't admit to Tottenham playing the best football in the Premiership [ with far less money than Manchester City ] then they're not being true to themselves .
Tottenham were headed for relegation before Harry Redknapp got them to 8th [ I think ] back in [ I've forgotten which season also !!
icon_smile.gif
] - the job that Daniel Levy has done there is nothing short of miraculous - they didn't spend the Bale money well but they've invested in youth and experience and have the exact blend of both - it won't be just West Ham fans looking on with jealous eyes it will be most of the Premiership , credit where credit's due .

Believe it or not , we were that good at one time .

I think they'll still continue to struggle against teams that park the bus, they've already drawn at home to Swansea, and I'm sure they'll drop more points at home.

I don’t think they were 4-1 better than the Scousers. Mickys were rubbish at the back and if not for a couple of good saves from Lloris they could have been in the game, after saying that Spuds will be there or there about but don’t get carried away with yesterday’s result

I like the way they play and their squad objectively but I think Spurs are approaching Dipper levels of dislike for me the way most connected to their club specifically go on about City, such bitterness and irrational contempt from the fans. You only have to look at the way Pochettino goes on about Pep and City these days and compare it to the way he was at Southampton... all the more reason to keep the run of form going and take revenge for the robbery last season when they come to the Etihad. I have a feeling they will stay with in reach of us this season, how shit will it be if we mess up the title bid and have to listen to them bleat on about their cheap squad bought with clean oil free money and whatever other petty hashtag one liners they think up #moneycan'tbuyclass?

I don't think spurs were even that good, Liverpool were just terrible. 3 of the goals Liverpool literally handed to them and the dippers themselves missed a few good chances.

They're a much more physical team than people realise. The vast majority of their players are at least 6 ft tall, or at the very least close to it. Almost all their players talk about how hard Pochettino works them in that regard.

In a way, they're a hark back to English teams of yesteryear: Power, pace, skill, great team spirit and a well organised defence. They remind me of United from around 05-07.

They're the team that United like to think they are right now though.

As a downside, they're not the best equipped to break down a team that sets up just to stifle them . It's also likely that they'll suffer somewhat against sides that are really good at keeping possession (that aren't ridiculously error prone a la Liverpool), as Tottenham aren't the kind of side that would sit deep and play on the counter. But both those kinds of teams aren't teams Tottenham will play often.

"Certain players had got too comfortable and some refused to train on Mondays"
"The day after we lost that match, one of our own players sang the Jose Mourinho chant to Jesus's face."

Quotes from spurs managers new book. So he took over in 2014 in May, the league cup is August so late transfer window sales that season would probably be the person who sang that to the managements face. I am gonna say Michael Dawson for that one. For the lazy fucker i will say Benoit esso thingymiji. He is a right lazy fucker and can easily see how they had to have him hang around that whole first season Poch was in charge. Sandro is a fat bugger, could easily be him actually to.

Either way, both complete shit houses whoever they were, pretty sure our Kyle would not be that ****ish. Timelines do match up either and we know how Walker left.

City fans are SO touchy about the dirty money that’s been funnelled into the club.

my eyes might have been deceiving me, but i though v Dortmund, v RM, and v Lolapool the exact way we have been playing is by sitting back and using the counter attack? pretty successfully too.

I think he has a point actually. We’ve set up to counter against teams like Real, Dortmund and Liverpool. But against the likes of Swansea, Chelsea, West Brom etc we do struggle a bit. Last year we seemed to have cracked that issue, but it’s rearing it’s head again. Hopefully after Bournemouth last week we get a little more confidence against this kind of set up at home.

They are, but we are rather "glass house" based on this issue...

Glass house how? We often get the accusations that we have our own billionaire owner in Joe Lewis, but he has never really funnelled money into the club. If he’d been financially doping us, people would have a point, but he hadn’t.

How on earth can anyone with an ounce of sense think Michael Dawson is the type of individual to do this?

Deluded tosser. Dawson is the last person that would behave like that. Still a soft spot for Daws.

I agree about teams who are set up to stifle us, that does seem to be rearing its head again. But the point I was more referring to was the 'sit back against teams who keep possession'. that's exactly what we've done to brilliant effect against Dortmund, RM and Pool.

Agree, he hasn't even got the actual situation right. The episode Poch talks about, was after the League Cup final in march 2015. Daws was sold to Hull at the end of august 2014, without ever playing a league or cup game for Poch,

Only on the pitch? Is this because their chairman uses funky modern things like twitter and stuff?

We just need to start faster & with more intensity, pass the ball quicker and not play Dier in midfield against sides that park the bus. I like Dier but this season he just looks like he can't be arsed when we are playing sides we are expected to beat.

Think it could have been Ekotto personally ... he seemed to be seriously out of favour that summer.

Edit - just seen he was released in Feb 2015.

He has just said the reason Klopp has not strengthened at the back is because he has not been backed financially. Perhaps Klopp could have spent some of the £120mil he has laid out on the 3 midfielders they have just bought.

Just had this argument on Twitter with a Scouse.

He was lamenting that one win against Pool doesn't make us a great team when i asked how many times Pool had finished above us in the last decade he said that was not a judgement of success and that trophies were. For me progressing as a football team is a success, and that logically trophies should be our next achievement.

Liverpool's current form is that of their 1964 season, how is that a success?

He then went on about their defence not being good enough, but Klopp has spent the money but in the wrong areas, and finally i said that (similar to the Walker case) did he think that Poch would play Courtinho has he handed in a transfer request. The guy said that Pool had no one to fill that position with experience!

I added that was the difference, Poch would have played a player with enthusiasm and loyalty over and above one of skill who wanted out. He simply did not understand that theory.

He then blocked me...

Chadli, Mason, Bentaleb, Townsend started with Soldado off the bench and Fazio and Stambouli as unused subs.

Townsend, Fazio, Stambouli and Soldado all left that summer along with Paulinho, Kaboul, Capoue, Lennon and Chiriches all these in bold I could see having an ego and/or a feeling about training regimes (adding Bentaleb to that)

anyway what are the irons saying about us???
