Sorry but here are the home truths

Lloris 5 - some excellent camera saves but 2 soft bits of keeping for sterling and the de brunye goals

Trippier 0 - not good enough for this level we need to sell I’m sorry. He’s really dreadful against top opposition

Dier 4 - his head is not in a Tottenham shirt it’s as simple as that. Brilliant until the second half where he gave up on his team mates and himself.

Vertonghen 6 - the only player to try

Rose 5 - he tried more than some but least he’s honest enough to tell us he wants out as he can see it for what it is!

Dembele 3 - I’m sorry but his best days are gone it’s time to put this dog down.

Tom Carroll..oh sorry Harry Winks 3 - out of his depth from the moment the team sheet got announced simply not good enough and hugely overrated by all our fan base in reality within 3 years he will be playing for a hull etc, unless we slip back to mediocrity as that’s the only way he belongs in this team.

Eriksen 2 - from the get go he pranced about was like a fairy in every single 50/50 since that World Cup break something weird has gone on with him.

Son 2 - he tried but there’s nothing really he can do at fault for the gundogan goal as he left him run.

#Dele20 0 - fuck off mate you haven’t made it yet! Although you and your entourage seem to think you have he’s in real danger of his whole bubble bursting. Would have done us as a team a favour if he seen red as that’s the only way poch is leaving him out.

Kane 5 - don’t let your love for this club cloud your judgement wnd hold your career back you deserve trophies.

Poch 0 - more stubborn than AVB his inept ability to make changes or rest players is a joke....how on gods green earth did he not sub Trippier off?!

Lamela - first name on the team sheet for now for me

Lloris 4; Awful awful distribution, should’ve done way better for their fourth goal. Didn’t do much captaining.

Trippier; 2. Utterly unable to cope without Sane at all, offered nothing going forward either.

Dier; 3. Fazio is that you?

Vertonghen; 4. Pretty poor.

Rose; 3. A shadow of the player he was before his injury.

Dembele; 4. Clearly in decline now, off the pace and gives away too many fouls.

Winks; 3. Scared and too damn honest to win us a penalty.

Alli; 2. Did he play?

Eriksen; 4. Pretty poor but he did grab a consolation.

Son; 3. Pretty poor.

Kane; 4. Not his usual self.

Lamela; 6. Created our best chance.

Sissoko; 5. Why?

Davies; 5. Why?

Pochettino; 0. So many bad decisions. Starting an out of form Rose over a water Davies. Leaving Trippier to deal with Sane, without a covering winger. Clearly not practicing corners, ever. Playing a high press against City, when we’ve been at our best on the counter. Persisting with Eriksen and Dele despite their poor form. Not making any subs until far too late. Awful today, just awful.

Verts was the only one to come out of that with any sort of credit.

Poch - 0

Making the 1st change on 75 minutes. You wouldve thought we were contented with the result seeing that there were no changes at all before that point. And it wasnt alli or eriksen who were subbed. They were useless.

Making the 2nd and 3rd subs very very late just to give people a run out.

Poor. Absolutely poor tactical use of subs from him today.

It’s never been more obvious than in this match but we need a new 6. Winks isn’t ready yet and Moose is on his last legs. We were destroyed in the midfield. Alderweireld & Sanchez being out with Wanyama still hurt didn’t help either.

I never want to see Trippier start in a match like this vs. a wing he can’t physically handle ever again. Worst player on the pitch by a mile.

What’s embarrassing is Tottenham supporters who think we are embarrassing

Man City are possibly the best team in Europe playing at home and at the top of there game

We are nowhere near our best with 2 central defenders missing.
Wanyama is also injured and Dembele is miles away from being up to it in big games
Rose is also trying to regain fitness

What was very disappointing was to give them a very soft goal from a corner

Really unfortunate that Dembele is struggling so much. Might just about be able to hold his own v Stoke & Joe Allen but not Kevin De Bruyne!! ( was a horror show today)

Let’s move on

Lloris was awful on goal number 2 and 4, distributing terrible, is having a poor season and should be dropped. A cat would have done better on the second goal.

Trippier was directly responsibly for goal 2 and 3, awful positionally all game and offered no attacking threat.

Dier and Vertonghen were horribly exposed by the rest of the side from all angles, not at fault in my opinion.

Rose was okay, showed a bit more endeavour than most.

Winks looked like a four year old who had won a competition. Left his midfield partner, the centre backs and the attacker in front of him completely unsupported. One time he could have been useful, at just 2-0 down, he kept his head down in their box and went all headless chicken on the situation.

Dembele was poor in the most part but I excuse him on the basis that he was a one man midfield up against the most fluid, on form, skilful, in tune side on the planet.

Son was peripheral and never received the ball anywhere he could hurt City.

Dele was atrocious, needs a month on the sidelines, everything broke down with him and he was lucky not to be dismissed.

Eriksen scored a nice goal and was alone out of the attacking midfield in creating anything all game or showing any imagination.

Kane at least fought and gave us a few moments of class but sadly he was having to do it all on his own mostly.

Lamela at least created a tiny bit of danger immediately after coming on. Should have been on sooner, in fact he should have started.

Sissoko and Davies escape criticism.

Manager gets null from me, at 1-0 he could have done something to affect the game, there were enough atrocious performances out there to justify an early sub. Lamela for Dele, Aurier for Trippier, anyone for Winks. Instead he sat on the bench, scratching his balls and licking the dugout window.

Poch got it wrong in many ways, easy to say in hindsight. But trip against sane was obvious.
Anyway my opinions:

Lloris - 4 - some decent saves, his kicking and decision making however was comedy

Rose -6 bad final product but defensively city got no joy against him really. Thought he was alright defensively

Vertonghen -6 Meh, run ragged but was decent

Dier - 1. reminded me of the time capoue played center back against the Suarez Liverpool. Eric clown shoes

Trippier -0 could've been 20-0 if pep just said keep attacking down the left
Bette than walker....LOL

Dembele -3
He was ok in spells but tired badly, shriveled up and then died. A husk of what he was and can't maintain high quality for more than 30 mins

Winks - 1
Master of invisibility. And when he did turn off the cloaking device he was terrible, couldn't even trap the ball.
The lack of quality in the squad in cm means were forced to keep playing a mere prospect in a vital role .

Son -5
Didn't get much joy partly because of the horror behind him, but worked hard and looked a lil dangerous. can't really be too critical. Shouldn't have been subbed

Dele -3
Meh same old same old

Erisken -3
Nice goal bumps him up by 2. Usual cup cake fairy princess mode he sometimes goes into

Kane -7 mom
Personally thought he looked quality with every touch. Even with their super team think he'd waltz in ahead of Jesus or aguero

Lamela - 7 lovely bit of skill to set up winks who then ...I don't know somehow dribbled it away from goal and then fell over his own hamstrings

Sissoko and Davies net

Sad to say winks may be a bit of a one trick pony. Fine when he the game is infront of him and he has time to slot a pass. But with his back to goal or under pressure he just isn’t quick enough or strong enough. A good player but having doubts that he can be top draw.

Rose and Jan played well today. Lamela was excellent when he came on.

City outplayed us just like every other team they play. Let's move on and fight for second

Rose had a strange game. He looks, primarily with the ball, rusty and lacking rhythm, he's looking unfit and struggling to get up and down and he does look like he's lacking a little bit of focus. However he was the only one who seemed to consistently at least try and get about them, even if it did mean giving away fouls, and defended pretty competently and was invariably there to throw himself in the way and put in a block as others were doing their best to shepherd a City player through on goal.

He was by no means the worst out there. Trippier on the other flank had a horror show. Our midfield and attack though in the main just didn't offer enough. Yeah it might be tough, that's when you need to stand up and be counted. It's got to be the day where you work even harder, show for the ball as much as possible, make sure your touch is sure, make smart decisions when you do see the ball and keep the error count low..... Too many of them didn't rise to the challenge.

Also, Lloris...... That's another one (at least) to the big game rap sheet. He's captain, he's supposed to set the example, this cant keep happening.

Going forward he's still pants but was our best player defensively

Throwing himself in front of shots is one thing, not getting back when he is in the attacking third and we turn over the ball is another. He did a lot of both today. I said it in the match thread he is no longer interested in the cause and is just trying to put together a high lights real in order to keep potential suitors interested.

Really thought we'd do them but they are just too good

Lloris MOTM, not much competition but he made some good saves and I wouldn't say he was at fault for any goal

Shame to concede a soft first goal and trippier had a mare but it's not the end of the world losing to the best team I've ever seen spurs play

There’s a few for me in our team doing just this at the moment not just Danny he’s just the only one that’s honestly enough to say it FairPlay to him.

Dier

Dele....they are all doing something exactly the same

when Lloris plays we invite pressure, we cannot play out from the back as his distribution is shocking.

not one player comes away with any credit - especially the so called big game players
