Listening about how we are setting up the deals for months and pushing for players till the last minute.. okay, but who the hell are these players? Can really not imagine who we are pushing apart from some 16 yo kids or similar.

I know it seems like it's impossible to do things this late on but it really isn't. I have been around the people involved in these deals for long enough now to know that the dick waving is what consumes the time and once that is out of the way things can and do happen fairly quickly.
I can see a fair few deals tomorrow happening(and failing) subject to medical after the deadline has passed. Believe me when I say there are a fair few clubs in exactly the same boat.

Dark jokes aside, I'm optimistic enough (thanks to all the ITK) that we will pull one or two things out of the oven. Not sure how tasty they will be though.

The problem Trix is that the other clubs are having issues on their 3rd, 4th, 5th player of the summer. We're struggling on #1.

It's looking more and more that it's going to be bargain bin lucky dip time again 
. I'd honestly rather we signed no one and gave the kids a chance than went for a bunch of last minute Carlos Kickaballs and Andre Gomes type deals.
If we've screwed this window up at least own it rather than paper over the cracks and pretend it's all fluffy bunnies and rainbows.

And the out of the blue signings at the death, other than VDV, haven't exactly proved its a worthwhile tactic.

As much as this would be frustrating, I agree. If we revert to that type again, we just bloat the squad and face the same issue we have at the moment of trying to shift players that are not in our plans.
I think Herc said that Poch says no one is better than just someone and I feel the same. Saying that though I am hopeful of improvements to the squad but i'm losing a bit of faith!
