They've played the game. Who knows if they've won yet? If the signings don't work out and they come 5th they're in a large amount of trouble having spent so much. Given how high their wages to turnover is going to be they could also be in trouble if e.g. the TV rights fall in a couple of years time, something almost entirely outside of their control. What we've got in English football right now looks suspiciously like a bubble. It's at least as important to be in a good position if and when it bursts as it is to try and rise with it right now.

I'm not gonna hold my breath on either of those two things happening to be honest. Focus too much on the future and you can lose grip on the present.

He's better than people are making him out to be. But I thought he got injured pretty badly against us.
It was reported 2-3 months on the sidelines after the game, that's obviously subject to change.

WHU have been linked with maxi gomes, but cant see that being a loan as allegedly has a release clause of £40m ish

I guess im alone in thinking Gomes could be a decent signing? Hasnt been my first choice but i thought the sane thing last year as well. Things didnt work out for him at Barca but that doesnt mean hes a bad player. That would have been great business for West Ham, IMO, and we’ve been after him since last year so its obvious Poch likes him.

I agree with this, hell of a player at Valencia and similar to Grealish, hopefully it's a option to loan not an obligation.

I would not mind Mario, he has actually been decent before and nobody at west ham last year really looked good. How would you with tactical genius Moyes in charge. Overall we don't need much unless its a mega signing to actually improve the first 11 which is a tough one and i don't think Grealish is worth all the hassle either. He would have so much competition he would spend most of his time on the bench.

I think some of you lot want signings for the sake of it.

Just over 4 hours to go... ITK done its usual swing from positive in the morning to try not slit your wrist updates over lunch. I hope it swings back to positive in the next four hours for all our sakes. What a window this has been? Never experienced anything so depressing.

Im also still holding out hope that the dick waving between Woodward and Levy ends because a Toby for Martial swap makes too much sense. But i guess its one of those that makes too sense to actually happen.
I think he'd be a good signing but I also watch a fuck tonne of La Liga outside of the big 2 so witnessed enough of his time at Valencia to know there's a good player there who's just not made the most of a big move (comparisons with Zaha anyone?).

And yes, totally agreed with you on Toby-Martial.

So no more bids for Grealish? What happened to Martial defiantly coming to Spurs? 3 definitely coming in? Did we think it would happen? No... but we did as always hope, and the hope is slipping away!!
