Watch him start next week and put two past Onana. The United meltdown alone would be worth his wages until the summer.

Plus he's actually a good player on an affordable short term deal in January. That is hard to find.

I was delighted when I read that yanited were in for him as I’ve never rated him at all. Now the joke is on me.

And with the Dragusin saga dragging on over what seems to be just a few million quid difference in valuations, it seems that yet another spurs manager is being hung out to dry by Levy.

Let's not put the rose tinted glasses on too much. The bottom line is that he's not brilliant, not terrible but an average striker.

Veliz is out. Son is away. So Richy is our only senior striker and he's had injury problems of his own with patchy form.

With that in mind is he a better option than Johnson or Scarlett up front? Absolutely. He is somebody we can bring on for Richarlison in some crucial games, and there is no risk with the potential for reward if he surprises us all.

We need to sign a top forward but that will happen in the summer. If we get a loan like now like we did with Danjuma then I'm happy enough. He's not who I expected but he adds another attacking option. Our attacking options on the bench are looking very light at the moment. This sounds like a smart move. Worst case we get players back end of February and he's just a deep cover option. Best case Ange unlocks his true potential.

Uninspiring. Even just as a loan there's an opportunity cost to it.

I absolutely love Ange but with this and BJ I'm mildly concerned by his taste in forwards
What’s wrong with BJ? He’s been a perfectly good signing.

Werner is a similar style of player and can cover all 3 positions.

Tbh I thought we would only sign a CB this Jan so if we sign Werner on top of that and possibly a CM I’d be over the moon tbh.

6 Month loan makes complete sense to cover our absentees then we can properly reassess many targets in summer.

💯 this also he’s miles better than journeyman Danjuma.

If Levy was still pulling the strings we'd be signing no striker at all mate. See January 2020.

The rent boys would turn Messi and Haaland into terrible players so judging him in his performance before them he was really good and has the raw talent already. Ange can get the best out of him and I’d rather we take him on a try before you buy than have forked out £60m like Havertz

Maybe werner has come up as an option as the CB is costing a few million more than we first thought. So we are trying to balance the budget. If we didn't own Gil and we were asked who we'd rather sign on loan gil or werner we'd all pick werner so let's not moan about a squad upgrade

After the slating Deki got from this fanbase before he even joined, whether he has had a tough time before today, I wont be listening to any of you over Werner. If Ange thinks he can do a job, he gets my support.

We didn't sign a senior striker for years before Richarlison I understand how dizzying it is for all of yous, it's the same for me

If he had rediscovered some of his form pre Chelsea after leaving I could more easily draw a line through his time in the PL.

He clearly hasn’t though as he’s fallen back out of favour back in Germany.

Not getting good vibes about this one to be honest.

Difference is that we have a manager that has a record of getting the most out of a player. United have the opposite.

I’d rather get an out and out striker type rather than another wing forward. But I guess it would be slim pickings to get a short term loan in that offers us this.

6 months so low risk.
