Completely disagree, if anything it's our strongest. We have Devine, Donley Kyerematen, Hall and Olusesi who look good for their age groups.
I thought/think that Devine would be better further forward but to be fair, Devine has been playing a deeper role at Preston recently and appears to have been doing it pretty well.
The others are also decent but a bit further away from the first team, no?

I was thinking of players who are on the brink of first team action, more than the entire academy and would probably put both Devine and Donley down more as no. 10's than midfielders.
I'll bow to your greater knowledge of the youth though.
I don't know that much about Kyermaten tbh and both Hall and Olusesi sound decent but are maybe a year or two away yet?

I would say outside of Devine, Donley, Dorrington, Phillips and maybe Santiago, no other player is on the brink of first team action and the rest are all one or two years away at best.

Scarlett? Of same age as Devine, year younger than Santiago and only year older than Phillips, Dorrington & Donley. Though practically part of 1st team for spring.

We got any good CM’s? With GLC now out too we are down to bare bones.

Donely a n.o8 or winger?

If not there’s a chance for one of them to step up until we sign another CM and/or until Biss,Sarr & Maddison are back.
Nile John has been training with the first team. He was the future once.

From everything we have read and been told about Devine is that now he is being played in the deeper role (his preferred position) Preston are now getting mom performances from him and reaping the benefits all be it in a not so great team. From reading, the plan is to play him behind Donley. The future looks bright for these two with Mikey Moore coming down the track too.

I don't feel Kyerematen gets enough credit for the consistently good performances he puts in. The kid has great technique on the ball, strong work ethic and great tenacity. He often gets overlooked for Hall as the best CM in the academy and I feel thats due to Hall's natural ability on the ball and skill, but Rio works his arse off (not that Tyrese doesn't of course) and deserves his plaudits too, and the fact he's ahead of Tyrese playing for the U21s does say something.

They certainly would play well together as they have done so at U18 level (and probably before that too), Hall would be Bissouma and Kyerematen would be Sarr and Rio also has an eye for goal too, which is always welcomed.

I feel though now Craig has gone on loan to Doncaster that we should see more of Hall in the U21s, maybe not necessarily starting but certainly more substitute appearances so it'll be good to see how he'd be able to cope at playing at a higher standard.

With Rio he struggles fitness wise not sure why but whenever you watch him from 60 mins onwards he looks absolutely shattered. Spoke with his Dad at the U21s recent game vs Leeds and he said Rio lacks some confidence but is loving it at Spurs. Hall as you say just looks so perfect on the ball and the way he turns in and out of possession. He’s definitely a player you really enjoy watching when he picks it up in tight spaces.

Two games tomorrow, 18’s at Hotspur Way vs Villa

21s away to Southampton- Hopefully Dane up top with Jamie in the 10. They need to keep playing consistent 90 mins as well as the short appearances for first team.

Ah, I didn't realise that was his preferred position, I always thought he was more of a 10.
I did see that he's been playing deeper more recently, and doing rather well but I thought that may have been out of necessity and that he's just got the ability to pretty much play anywhere in midfield.

To be fair I have gleaned this mainly from our fellow sc’s but it is better for us not having two so called 10’s for the future 💪🏻

Well when we got him from Wigan he was playing in that deeper role for us when he started but then he started getting goals and got pushed further forward to take advantage of his goal scoring ability and he was brilliant in a more advanced cm role for us, but for Port Vale he's gone back to playing the deeper role and I have no idea if that's what we want from them or they are just playing him there because they want to, but he appears to do well in both the deeper and advanced positions.

Whether the deeper role is his preferred or our preferred position for him I honestly don't know.

In the #8 (Sarr's role) I think he/we will have the best of both worlds.
