Almiron also plays on the right whereas Nusa is predominantly a left winger so not really a replacement either

Fairly good bet Brugge have offered him to Newcastle. We had ITK the other day saying they wanted a bidding war and were trying to get more parties involved. Personally I don’t see Newcastle actually getting involved, they aren’t about to spend 25/30 mil on a young left winger when they have Gordon. Plus they aren’t in the best position financially.

Almiron plays on the right, nusa is mainly off the left and so would compete with Gordon. Seems an odd link to me

If we’re being honest, Newcastle don’t have the pull to overtake us (yeah) in any transfer tug of war. We have a manager who plays young players regularly, we have a shortage of *real* quality up front, and we’re also far more established. I’d be more worried if a club like Dortmund came calling.
I don't believe they're actually seriously interested and whilst on paper we seem a much more attractive proposition and at this time a better sporting project, I do wonder if an oil rich club is able to spin the potential future outlook of the club and the mountains of money they could promise in endorsements etc.
Hypothetically, that 'could' just bring them in to the game. If of course I believed they were in a position to rival us, which I dont

Last week Romano was saying we had further talks scheduled for this Wednesday.

My guess is that Bruges have given notice to all other potentially interested parties that they need to put an offer on the table by tomorrow or forever hold their peace.

The fact that we haven't heard anything for a few days might suggest that nobody else has rocked up with a serious bid yet.

Romano didn't mention Wednesday. WLB suggested Weds could be our target
