agree. that x factor player typically features heavily in what wins you stuff. we had it in part previously with h, bale, modric, dembele, etc but didn't have the complete squad. you feel putting another x factor player in our current strongest eleven and the sky is the limit.

Yeah exactly. It's that x factor wide player that would elevate our level as a team.

Honestly think Ange can turn him in to a ridiculously good player, that's why I'm so nervous and want it to happen so much.

this is a good read

Article says that take on success is an area to work in. Success at 50% of take ons is really high, isn't it? Much higher than that and you've got someone who could dribble past all opponents most of the time

Hopefully we can pursued them to let him to join now assuming that is what Ange would like. Whilst i don't think he would have much impact on our current season having him learn the basic of the PL could really benefit him for next season.
I think he could be a good option off the bench in matches where we struggle to break down the opponent.

Yeah his success rate is pretty good especially for an 18 year old. The fact is most 1v1 players attempt a lot of dribbles and the best can succeed about half of the time. Our problem is our wide players don't try it very often AND don't succeed much.

For comparison Nico Williams has a 46.7% success rate for example and he's a good dribbler. 1v1 players will always lose the ball a bit because they try things.

Doku level is what Nusa should try to aim to get to. Doku has a 63.1% success rate which is absolutely incredible given he also attempts 10.77 dribbles per 90. He's in the very top 99th percentile for dribbles attempted, successful take ons and take on success %.

Would be lovely but I just want him at all costs even if we don't get him until next season haha.

This really, even Kvaratskhelia who is another very good dribbler and many on here would love only has a 48% success rate. Like you say it’s about the other stats like attempts etc in combination that paint a full picture. For 18 Nusa is very impressive on the ball. He’d be a big benefit to our attack but I do think he will take time to adjust to the league. Patience will need to be given and expectations kept in check.

Mate patience and expectations? He's winning us the CL and PL double next season and collecting the Balon D'or :ROFLMAO:

Just get him signed Spurs 🙏

Ha yeah I know the feeling. Tbh im rather confident about us getting him at this point. I have never seen us moving the way we have recently and after Radu plus the current market being what it is i feel calm that this will happen one way or another. I'm assuming it will almost certainly be a loan back until summer but it will but you never know.

I would say Son is that player for us. His conversion rate is incredible. He is getting older though and we do need to think of a long term successor. Hopefully Nusa is the answer. Our succession planning has let us down over the years and we usually take too long before we replace a key player. Just need to avoid setting too high expectations on him if he does sign though. He's not necessarily going to be that player for a few years yet. He could be an impact player though with this current team. City have Bobb as that type of player but of course they still have their more senior key players. Even Bobb is a couple years older than Nusa.

He may not be the difference maker just yet but could have those big moments in games while he develops. What it does though is ensure we have that future generation coming through to follow the current ones. We simply didn't have that under Poch so only really had 4 years at the top level before the star players declined. We just didn't have suitable quality to replace them.

I think we really want one of these young prospects this window, and since vermeeren is now unlikely, I am confident we are all in on nusa, even though obviously completely different players.

Doku’s take on success rate in the PL is still good, but markedly lower at 54.2% which is a career low for him. That’s from an attempted 82 dribbles. Compare that with his success ratio of 67.1% from an attempted 83 dribbles in 19-20, when he was 18 years old playing in Belgium.

You can see the point I’m trying to make…. Nusa is going to find the step up to the PL fairly extreme, and he’s not even found his feet at Bruges yet. The raw ingredients are certainly there though.

I sort of mentioned it in the vermeeren thread but I think we really want one of these young prospects this window, and since vermeeren is now unlikely, I am confident we are all in on nusa, even though obviously completely different players.
Would make sense, even if he won’t be HG having him be Club Trained would be incredibly helpful for CL.

How does his final ball and finishing compare to other pacey wide players like Lennon, Robben, Bale and Sterling?

I'm sort of hoping the silence and apparent lack of activity these last couple of days means we are taking him now and Brugge have readied their incoming replacement.
