So the latest report contradicts the contradictory report we got earlier this morning and we're nearly back where we started then.

i just find it very strange Brentford is willing to pay 30 mill for a player noone knows if will be any good, 18 is way to risky to put yourself in that kind of economic problem. if they have not already received 80 mil for Toney that is

Its the thing they do though. Paid also 25m for Kevin Schade. Pacey young winger no one knows if actually comes good.

So there could be another twist on top of the new twist in the Nusa-deal and another transfer ITK-bomb that can't be revealed yet ?? ... or have I missed something ? 🤔🤷‍♂️

Seems like us wanting him now messed up the deal. Don't really understand that. We have Werner until the summer to fill that gap.

Surely makes a lot of sense to just get him in the summer when Sonny is on his way out, maybe Werner has influenced this one, which I think is a risk in itself as he could not come good and we'll be short at LW in the summer with Sonny on his last legs
Sonny is on his last legs? Shit I didn’t know!

I’ll start by saying I really want Nusa because I do feel we need a couple of cracks at the “Son long term replacement” so we need to start looking.

On the other hand - we know our scouting is vastly improved, we know we have financial stability, and I believe Nusa would pick us above Brentford given equal deals as there is a place for him in our attack. The logical conclusion is that either Brentford have bid more than we think he’s worth (in which case, we can’t overspend for the sake of it, especially when it’s not an immediate need) or there is a term we can’t accept (eg a release clause).

If we can go get him great, if not there will be other opportunities to get top young talent in the summer as it wasn’t really for this season anyway.

(I would still be very disappointed though!)

Well personally, I fully commend how the club have gone about their business this window, and I won't have a problem if they have a price for Nusa above which they are not prepared to go. I've also got not problem if the player chooses a lesser club because he will play more. Let's see how this develops

I’m confused. I thought the player had also accepted the offer from Brentford?
So am I but the family and agent have said otherwise. Brugge fed to us that nusa has agreed the deal and they too but the camp are saying otherwise. That’s why I said it’s odd what Brugge are doing.

Im not going to get people’s hopes up but there could be a strange twist to this I’m baffled to say the least.

I’m sorry right now this ain’t positive reminds me of fati last year haha that scarred me 😂 if i get anymore news I will share.
Have to be honest. Fati hasn’t set the world on fire at Brighton so it kind of shows that deal wasn’t right for us anyway.

I’d also argue that £30 million for this unproven young lad seems too much of a risk as well.

Unless we now step into the frame with a bid of our own?

And although we've all whipped ourselves into a bit of a excited frenzy about this lad, we don't know how hard we were actually in for him.
For all we know, we might have seen an opportunity, had a sniff, then decided it's wasn't for us.

I'm sure that if we really want him, we can beat Brentford for his signature, so it's not that we've "fumbled" this, more that we've decided against it.
agreed. to be honest, i saw him as a bit of a novelty knowing that i knew nothing of him a month ago. There are no guarantees in this business and its important to have a bevy of young talent. We got what appears to be a bona fide CB and a potential game changer in Timo. so while i'd love bringing him on, very little reaction (now) and maybe we'll regret it if we lose him, but for the moment, i'm loving where we're at and where we are going.
