No wonder they were trying to invite an auction, wanted to get as much as possible before his value went down.
Yeah sounds like an eBay auction where they listed him as one careful owner and it turns out Brugge have been using him to do doughnuts all over town!!!

Maybe Levy will get lucky and pick him up in an Amazon returns pallet. (y)

Hardly an informed opinion but my outside view on Gil is we signed him too early in his development. He wasn't physically ready to play in the Prem and he's gone from being a regular at a good side in a good league that he can physically handle to hardly ever playing, not having a role and stagnating.

There is a danger in signing players too early in their development. There's a reason the likes of Haaland went to Germany before coming to the Prem.

Regardless of the price, if we feel the price is too much for where he currently is, and we might be the best place for Nusa to develop, we're best off steering clear.

Not against the signing by any means, just wary.

Genuinely I do feel sorry for both parties here. When I first saw Brentford had taken pole position I was a little pissed off and would have loved for them to be screwed over. This though is pretty crap for both player and Brentford

The sad thing is that even if he still goes to Brentford and does well, this news may put bigger clubs off in future.

Who in their right mind is going to shell out £35m now for a player that has back and knee issues.
This is probably the reason he hasn't been a regular starter for Brugge.
Surely you would see what happens for the rest of the season and if all is ok go back with a bid in the summer.

Makes a little more sense now that Brugge were willing to sell in this window. Couldn’t work out why they wouldn't wait and tell him to get his head down. Obviously scared he was going to aggravate his knee / back problems and loose out on millions.

Good luck to the lad, but we can’t afford to risk money on a player that could potentially miss large spells out.

Mad after all that he wouldn't have passed a medical!

maybe that's why we only met with the club/player once and walked away.

feel sad for the player.

How many CL minutes had Sarr played?
Sarr has been crucial player for Metz since his breakthrough to first team while having one of the best stats for u23 midfielders in top5 leagues when we bought him, then he had another full season for them.
Meanwhile Nusa isn't even regular starter for Brugge lol

Seriously though the Premier league is going to find out any problems like that very quickly, it's too physical not to affect it pretty soon.
A shame for the kid.

Couldn't really have anyone who isn't physically able in an Ange system. He'd be constantly getting injured.

Back problems with younger players also can identify emotional problems.

There’s a lot of evidence shown that players in adolescence and late teens with back problems also struggle with high levels of stress and problems with anxiety. So his mentality may be preconditioned somewhat to struggle in high pressure scenarios at such an inexperienced level.
