It’s 7M euros but it’s paid in future rights to BarcaTV revenues instead of cash

As a Swede, I can't remember ever being as excited by a midfield talent as I am by Bergvall. His play style is somewhat similar to Frenkie de Jong's and his technical ability would certainly suit Barca. However, I wish he'd stay away from that club with all the issues they're having and I recall young imports often struggling for them as the club culture can be quite difficult if you're not raised in it.

Can't see him picking us over them but a man can dream.

He'll go the same way as Odegaard after his stint in Spain, but hopefully he'll end up on the right side of North London this time.

So because he's flirted extensively with Barca, has been linked extensively with Barca, happens to be in Barcelona today and just so happened to have lunch with their Sporting Director, we're just assuming it's close? Seems like a stretch. :cautious:

The choice is between the Spanish Barcelona and the English Tottenham.

Bergvall was not there when Djurgården played a training match against Västerås SK last Saturday. The midfielder was earlier this week in London and is currently in Barcelona.

- It has been written that Lucas Bergvall should already be ready for Barcelona. It is completely wrong, says a source to Expressen.

- It might as well be that he plays in Tottenham. It stands and weighs right now.

Tottenham already has former national team player Dejan Kulusevski, 23, who just like Bergvall received his football training in IF Brommapojkarna.

Well at least we are giving it a go - if this is true - would be stunned if we manage to get him though.

I'd be stunned if he didn't sign for Barcelona but Xavi's statements regarding his future at the club, the pressure, as well as the links to the likes of Mourinho as Xavi's replacement likely aren't helping their case.

Hasn’t he been capped by Sweden - why would he be in our academy
He has but it´s a bit misleading. Every January the Swedish national team plays a few friendlies with a squad full of players from the Swedish league (and a few from the other Scandinavian leagues) and that squad he was part of. So yes he has been capped but it was nowhere near the regular team.

One thing that might lure him here is that Barca already have Pedri, Gavi and de Jong who are some of the best young central midfielders in the world. His playing style is quite similar to Frenkie actually.

I haven't followed the story closely but I'm wondering if a loan back to Djurgarden would be on the cards. He only started 11 games last season (played the full 90 on five occasions).

The kid is literally in Barcelona finalising the deal. No chance he now hops on an Easyjet to the UK.
Unless Barca realise they actually really can’t afford him. I know it sound preposterous but I’m not sure how they are even swinging €7 mil.

But yeah, I think this is nonsense.
