Probably not a result we can grumble about too much.
VDV was class, as was Richy.
A couple of brain farts apart Romero did pretty well positionally and tempered aggression.
Madison showed glimpses of improvement
Bentancur and Kulu just don't seem right. Bentancur, I can understand if he still doesn't fully trust his body but Kulu??

Also, importantly, Ange needs to shoulder some blame. His substitutions were too negative and brought them on to us at the end and IMO cost us 2 points

The side is so disjointed. It hasn't had chance to settle this season with all the injuries and internationals etc etc. constantly chopping and changing. But that was a frustrating and unconvincing performance for 2 league games in a row. I'd expect more.

Bentancur hasn't found his mojo yet. Which is a shame as this side desperately needs his footballing brain. Maddison isn't enough on his own.

I can't decide between VDV and Richarlison for motm. Some.of the big boys must be looking at VDV with jealously though.

Everton didn't play like a side battling relegation though. They deserved that draw and set up brilliantly to stop spurs getting any rhythm. Completely dominated the cm area.

I'm a little confused about the whole GK marking thing though. I understand getting in close, but I didn't think backing into the keeper was permitted? And at the set pieces pushing into vicario?

Trouble is. You risk a penalty if you push back. So what are you meant to do?

Was kulusevski ill recently? I wonder if he's still recovering. As he has been the shadow of his former self.

I agree but I don't think we helped ourselves one bit, far too many passes went astray or straight to Everton players either in the middle of the park or crucially just outside our area in the last 3rd, yes I gwt that it happens at times when the opposition apply pressure but I felt today in particular many of those occasions were we gave the ball away was simply as a result of unforced errors and below average crap execution woth the passing. I'd say it was close to being some of the worst passing I've seen this season. I'm hoping it was a bad day at the office on that front and the optimistic part of me thinks there will be some improvement. I don't even think it was down to one or two players on the sloppy passing stair I'd put it much higher than that today and if we kept it up we were always going to pay even against a team struggling for goals and we duly did.

VDV look by far the most assured.

Had VDV and Udogie right up there but has to be Richie.

The last lot of subs did for us today. Holjberg, Gil and Skipp all on at the same time when we needed to retain possession and see the fame out.

I thought PEH was dreadful today. Lost count how many times he gave the ball away. Udogie also didn't impress. Like most, Richy ad VdV the best.....but otherwise meh.

Yes. Passing was all over the place. Has been poor last few games too.

Of course, the usual confirmation bias. A lot of our players gave the ball away way too often, Maddison passed too late when we could’ve had clear chances and lost possession instead etc. PEH breaking the lines was the reason we got the chance for the first goal and he showed very good technique on several occasions - but let’s just pretend he was utter garbage and the only one who lost the ball 🙄

Yeah. He was the least of our problems today.

Generally speaking, we have looked a bit ragged as of late. But it’s entirely understandable given context of players at various stages of recovering from injuries and absences.

VDV and Richy joint MoM.

Decent: PEH, Romero, Udogie, Porro, Maddison, Vic
Below Par: Benta, Werner, Sarr
Thanks for playing: Deki, Johnson

This is bang on. It was only his passing that let him down on a few occasions. Unfortunately, that is all most people will remember/focus on.
