Man, if we could ever bring in Nusa and Neto or Nico/Kvara (after his agent's comments I think there is a good chance he asks to leave this summer) and Roony.

Fantasy I know but dreaming is free.
Kavra agent said he wants to go to a top club: he’ll go to psg to replace mbappe likely, no chance he comes to us.

I know his dad said he wanted to go to Madrid, who don't need him as they have Vini and their budget will go on whatever astronomical contract they give Mbappe. I reckon PSG will probably go for Leao as they have been following him for years and he has just said he wants a change summer. Kvara will obviously be very unlikely for us and probably be beyond our budget but realistically there are not many teams who could afford him. RM, PSG, BM, City (maybe?), Liverpool (maybe?) and none of them bar possibly PSG need a LW and im not convinced Kvara will be their top pick. I don't think its a forgone conclusion he would turn us down ether if we got into CL after all its been well documented we almost signed him in the past so obviously have long standing interest.

That is the level of ambition and kind of thinking we need if we want to go from a top 4 challenging team to a team genuinely competing for CL and PL titles.

And even though some of those players would cost more, they still fit in with our general transfer policy and ethos as a club as they are all still young players with room for growth.

Exactly this. You have to get your squad to a place where it’s sorted and you only need to sign 2-3 players are an actual upgrade on your first 11, obvs requires sales to facilitate too but no reason we can buy 1 big name expensive attacker in summer especially as son will have a year left and it’s sucession planning.

Spot on mate. We've done a lot of good work now so we are in a place where we don't need that many signings this summer but we do need them to be good quality additions and starting 11 upgrades out wide at least.

Alongside what you said we should also be looking to add quality young players (like we've done with Bergvall) every transfer window (or at least every other window) to always ensure we have a conveyor belt of talent coming through.

There is no reason we shouldn't be able to go for at least 1 marquee wide player and that doesn't mean a £100m player. It could be Williams £43m, Neto at £55-60m etc. But a proper upgrade in a key position which enhances our starting 11.

Leao will replace Mbappe imo.
The fact he's stated talking about wanting to leave this summer is far to coincidental IMO. As said its well known PSG have followed him for years so I think its almost guaranteed he will go there. Plus PSG have Xavi Simons returning from loan who is an incredible talent, is right footed and a natural on the LW. Leao and Simons will more then cover for Mbappe and offer a varied skill set.

We should monitor that situation, perhaps both won't be happy? Simons would incredible for us.

If i was being cynical i'd say it was Brugge maybe fudging the results so as not to dissuade teams come summer or for his value to drop too much. But then again it could have been Brentford trying to get a better deal. Ether way something feels a little off.
But it said scans were done by the Norwegian medical team.

They are probably still the ones regularly used by the club and/or player. Something ether way is a little off, if there is enough of a significant problem to make Brentford cancel the deal over it then the issues won’t suddenly have disappeared in a week. One of the two parties made an error in their assessment.

I'm actually starting to wonder if Brentford just got cold feet about the deal. It's a massive fee for them - easily their biggest and I believe more than we were prepared to pay. Given they're not safe from relegation maybe they just blew the injuries out of proportion as an excuse to walk away without losing face?

EDIT: I wonder if it's also related to Toney. Maybe they were anticipating bids for him that never materialised and it's dawned on them that with the general FFP situation they're not going to be getting anything like the £80m of whatever it is they wanted in the summer either?

I would have thought there are easier ways to scupper a deal, just move the goal posts at the last second. I'm sure Levy could give them some tips....

I can't see medical professionals making up issues for the sake of it, though, and I'm sure there would be serious legal ramifications if they did.

But it was a huge fee for Brentford, so any concerns with regards the medical, however small, and they were always going to pull the plug, even if they are being overly cautious

I can't see it. Getting to the point they did takes time, effort and money. I'd say it was definitely something in the medical that spooked them.

Given where they are in the league it would have been a huge risk to sell Toney to get a bigger fee now, only to find themselves relegated in May. The sensible move was definitely to keep Toney and take what hit comes on the transfer fee in the summer and i'm not sure they wouldve only just figured that out.

Man, don't want to get too excited about this prospect, but he would upgrade our front line massively. It's the type of addition we need, that one attacking player that really scares the opposition with sheer pace and quality with the ball to match.

Have to admit, I thought Neto was 26 or so. Didn't know he was 23.

Good enough to start for City, Liverpool or Scum imo. Would be an incredible signing if he’s over his injury issues.

Would transform the dynamics and quality of our attack and could become an elite player under Ange.
