The thing with Deki for me is even when he's a bit sloppy on the ball, he's still a consistent 6 out of 10 player because of his work rate. So many people slagging him off in the match thread yesterday and yet he played a huge part in us winning that game so comfortably. He's still only 23 so his decision making is what needs to come with maturity but as long as he's grafting he'll be starting imo.

He was getting massive praise from many pundits who clearly know more than most fans. It's when the knob mob get on a perfectly good players back we have a problem as a club.

He's a potentially very good player, who periodically adds something really positive for them, and when he's not, his presence is still felt.

You can really work with that.

The question for me remains: in which position is his ceiling highest? Still not sure personally, but I think he can definitely play deeper and more centrally to good effect.

He give Porro the ability to raid forward. Not all players have to be worldies. Some just have to work within the system to let others do their thing. Yes it’s frustrating sometime when he cuts back in. But he’s a team player. And if it works for Ange. It works for me.

Played the through ball to Sarr for the first goal, nicked the ball to set Son off for BJs goal and assisted Son

Pretty key in the win!

I cant believe people still doubt him. Even if he isn't amazing on the day, he always contributes some kind of important moment or two.

He's an incredibly important player and still so young.
Yeah he lacks pace but his strength, control and tenacity mean that he still beats players and once he's in front of them, he's like a brick wall.

I think all of our attacking players get too much unfair criticism on here, and not enough praise for what they actually bring to the team.

There's a reason he's been ever present for two very different managers and his mentality is probably a big part of that.

His overall contributuion most weeks is 7/10. Yesterday he was 9.

He works immensely hard, combines well down the flank with superb ball carrying stength.

If he had more acceleration and pace he'd be one of the best in the world

He is very Bernardo Silva. Different kinds of players obviously. The technical ability of Bernardo is matched by very few players in the world today. But similar roles and tendencies. The insane work rate, the chance creation, the way he can always seem to create a little bit of space to produce a final third action, the fact he’s always fit and available. Little things that can go unnoticed at times. Bernardo’s high in premier league g+a is 14. Never been an output player. But he’s one of the very best players in the world and irreplaceable. Kulusevski isn’t there yet; he’s simply not on that level. But with room to grow to reach that level or get close? For sure.

In the match squad 25 times, starting XI 24 times & rarely substituted, missed two match squads with suspension and injury , reckon that tells you how much Ange rates Deki.

The only question i have with him is long term where does he play. I know that the fact he can cover both RW and AM coupled with his fantastic work rate makes him invaluable but I just don't know if I really like him out wide in this system if he were to be considered a starter there going forward. Obviously there is an element of maybe him being a little off form and its very evident he needs to work on his decision making. Plus he is only 23 so still has a lot of room to improve. At the moment he is a fantastic squad player who always puts in 100% every game and thus deserves time and respect for the role he is playing in the squad. I just don't know come summer how we view his role going forward as i think it does relate to what WF we look at in the upcoming window.

He is one of our most important players. Even if he doesn't have a good game he can still have some very impactful moments.

Many pundits know more than most fans. Pushing it a bit there. Obviously not listened to Robbie Savage, Gabi Agbonlahor, Pennant, Sturridge, our own Jamie Ohara. Just because they played doesnt mean they know anything
Most pundits watch the matches on tv, fans who go to games will be far more knowledgeable .

I think 3 of Kulu's goal's have been scored with his right foot. He often checks back onto his left when there is no clear target to aim at. He had no problem setting up Son on the weekend when Sonny checked back into space. He did the same thing against Palace, Sonny hit the post. Believe it or not players are coached to cross or pass, when there is a high chance of success, which is why teams go long as time runs out. Deliver a poor cross, or corner and the ball can very quickly be in your own penalty area.

Lots of comments on his poor decision making but for me, that was one of his standout qualities when he first joined the club. He was absolutely lethal in Conte’s counterattacking system where he racked up 13 G/A in his first 18 PL appearances. The composure, timing, speed and execution of every action was impeccable. He is still adjusting to a very different role and style of football in a team which is still nowhere near full attacking fluency, but IMO he’ll really shine when Ange's style of football is in full flow and the patterns of play become more natural and more automatic.

If he had more acceleration and pace, chances are he wouldn't have the strength of an ox and the ability to swat away those that try to tackle him. It's a compromise I'm happy to accept.
