With the new PSR rules I doubt us of any of other club will be doing any ‘splurges’ while the rules are being enforced.

If they can re-finance the Stadium debt with an equity injection, it frees up X amount for the team.

I think our repayment is somewhere around £30m a year.

So effectively maximises our PSR potential spend.

In a CL year that puts us comfortably above Arsenal and Chelsea and closing in on Liverpool in terms of budget.

Make good decisions about sporting structure, personnel, academy, and recruitment, and that's how you sustainably compete for titles.

Plenty to criticise Levy in recent years, but can't fault the strategy here.

In this case ENIC and our interests would be aligned.

Pull off the above, and the final phase of NDP, and the value of their remaining equity goes through the roof.

You cannot guarantee Champions League or even European football every year.

You also cannot guarantee a string of sell out Beyonce performances every year.

If you budget on that basis you run risks going forward - when such events occur then the additional profits derived should be invested in the club.

Sound economics suggests you manage what is under your control and budget accordingly.

What you can currently guarantee is a sell out stadium each match and the associated Revenue. Sound business sense.

Totally ignoring inflationary pressures on the costs of this side of the business is not logical - so increases to ticket prices, whether that be matchday or season ticket, is inevitable.

Fact that increases are less than inflation emphasise the reliance on other strands of the business income.

It should be remembered that a small increase each year is more sensible than a larger increases every other year and more easily manageable to our cash flow.

As a 63 year old season ticket holder, the news that there will be no future concessions to benefit from is disappointing - but unfortunately I do understand

It's a bit like society in general - the needs of the older generation is growing and the cost to support is falling on a smaller number.

It is not sustainable and THFC will not be alone in making such a stance.

What Levy has also done is prove to any potential investor is that the business of the football club is being run efficiently, and that even decisions which do not meet with universal agreement are taken if they are in the interests of the football club.

‘Disappointing’!!!

You think someone who’s been supporting their football club all their lives, then retires on the state pension, but is told he’ll not get a reduced ST price because he no longer earns a wage, will only be disappointed?

It is disgusting - at the very least it should be means tested and those that can no longer afford a ST should 100% be given the opportunity to keep it going, should they so wish, for as long as they are able

It’s bad enough that younger supporters have been priced out. Targeting retired supporters loyalty, who may have been supporting their football club for decades is abhorrent

Have you forgotten that League cup trophy? Balance sheet trophy>league cup trophy.
You joke but top 4 is far more beneficial than a domestic trophy as far as our financials go and remaining in a strong position for ffp rules. The one year we didn't qualify for Europe and it already has knocked us a bit. The titles that people obsess over with any real worth for the club is the league title (which couples with the league position bonus and CL qualification) and the CL title (which couples with the CL progression bonus) in which a few years ago we got a fair bit for progressing to the final. So for all the stick we get for no titles the 2 major ones that matter are largely dominated by the mega rich/worlds biggest clubs and not many clubs win those. I'm sure Levy's long term vision is to build us into one of those biggest clubs. Again though domestic cups don't get you there, league titles and major European titles do.

It's only for new ST holder though right? So if that fan is a current ST holder they will still get the discounted price. If it's a fan who wants to apply for a new ST then they don't get that discount. I don't think it's that bad to be honest.

Point proven. Would rather another top 4 finish than a trophy. football is about opinions but that one is very very wrong.

Levy has brainwashed so many, its quite sad. Many fans and many vocal on here prefer Tottenham Hotspur PLC to Tottenham Hotspur FC.

If Levy was a Tory minister and these bonuses and so on were made public, many on here would all of a sudden have a differing opinion.....
Strongly Disagree

Top 4 is not a trophy

Period
First time we qualified for CL I was ecstatic. Felt like we had arrived and we knew we had an adventure ahead of us.

When we qualified under Poch, it felt more like a huge advantage from competing but the disappointment of not winning the PL was definitely the more prominent feeling.

When we qualified for CL under Conte, that felt like a potentially big springboard to go and do something under Conte.

I often look back and think how I'd feel had we won the FA Cup instead of qualifying under Conte and Poch in his last seasons and I think we'd be much more satisifed with the FA Cup wins.

The day, the occasion, every moment of the game, you take it all in and replay it over and over.

I would not treat qualifying for the CL this season as anything other than a potential springboard, I wouldn't be ecstatic like a I would with a trophy.

We have to start to win them again.

Absolutely agree.
I am nearly 72 now (not the oldest here by far), but if there is one thing I would dearly love to see before I go, it is Spurs winning something again. League Cup, Euro Conference, something, anything.

I am sorry but the highlighted part sums up what is wrong with the Tottenham fanbase today.

To me, It seems the sentiment that 'we want to be a big club and compete for the top honours' is used when it comes to the domestic cups and the Europa League and Europa Conference League but as soon as someone suggests we can 'act' like a big club (i.e. spending the necessary money to buy high quality players) we are told 'we can't compete with the mega clubs'. Funnily enough, it is very similar to the method which enables the owners to maximise revenue rather than focus on winning trophies.

I’m a season ticket holder in my 70s and so affected by the change.

People my age have been the fortunate generation. We benefited from: free university education (with a grant to cover living costs), easy access to the housing ladder, final salary pension schemes, and much more. Not all of us have been fortunate but many of us have.

So don’t feel too sorry for us.

I’d much prefer the club to give concessions to help children get to watch games.

Love this. Thanks for posting your opinion on the matter. I find it refreshing.

The price increase irks me far more than the concessions. Many young people have to pay up to 70% of their decent salaries on rent, let alone on any mortgage. They cannot afford the football either.

I don’t feel sorry for you but I do feel desperately sorry for those who will not be able to afford to go anymore

being fazed out for everyone - in a few years time everyone will have to pay full price

As far as I’m aware it’s being completely fazed out so in a few years every adult who reaches pension age will pay the same amount however long they’ve been a ST holder

Steady on I didn't say anything about the fans, I said it's more beneficial financially to the club which it is. Fans and the club have 2 separate priorities, fans favour trophies more where the club favours sustainable financials. All I was saying is that top 4 is more important from a clubs perspective. They're in it to generate money and we fans are here for more than that. Now I'm not saying trophies don't matter to the club but they want to spend as little as they can while finishing in top 4. They've not shown any indication they want to do more than that at least up to this point. Which is why I feel we are now suggesting outside investment. ENIC simply are an investment company and they took over the club to generate money. Now times have changed and it requires big money to spend to compete with the rest it no longer is a viable investment for them.

This isn't necessarily a dig at them or defending them. It's just how I feel their priorities are and have always been based on our approach over the years. At the end of the day I think they've done a great job to set the foundation but if we want to push on we need an owner willing to spend bigger than they do. They've laid the canvas down well and top 4 is and always will be a good achievement but that doesn't mean it's enough for the fans.
