In shadows cast, whispers rise,
A Swedish striker, coveted prize.
In summer's dance, clubs may vie,
For his goals, they'll reach the sky. This is my last one bet you lot don’t get it ;)

If this is gyokeres then simply wow. I think he's the perfect #9 in football right now and would slot into our system like a glove.

Yes and very much Ange's character type. Battle hardened in the championship, worked his way up to reach this level

Robert Plant??

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a big lad we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold

It is also worth noting that WLB did suggest Williams wasn’t the target when he mentioned we were looking at a WF in Spain a month or so ago. There is a lot of talk about RM needing to sell an attacker due to Mbappe and Endrick joining plus Rodrygo himself has talked about not being completely comfortable on the right.

Obviously on the flip side there are reports coming out linking us with Williams and is probably him but your breakdown does make sense.
I still haven’t seen anyone mention the player we really like . Not actually sure if he’s as exposed over here as much as we think he can become a diamond . The hint is and I think I alluded to it few months back variation .

I like that this alludes to us unearthing talent, rather than going for the common names.
Hopefully, whoever this is follows the type of Udogie, Sarr, Bergvall and even Vicario and Micky.
Players that may not be well known but are potentially about to burst into the scene as great talents.

That's what we as a club have to do because as you say, we're never spunking 100m on a player and with today's market, it doesn't make much sense to do so because if they don't work, you're stuck with a massive loss.

There aren't many clubs able to spend 50m on a player at the moment so you're looking at a big loss if your 100m player doesn't work out.
*Waves at Anthony 😁.

We can't afford to do that sort of thing and fall into the trap that Chelsea seem to have fallen into.
We need to box clever and snap up the right talent for the right price and we've already shown that the talent is out there, if we trust our model and scouting.

Honestly baffled as to who it could be. Been racking my brains thinking about La Liga attackers who would be a top choice above Williams and who hasn’t been mentioned haha.

He’s an in between I would say from reports no where finished article but not quite a baby in football terms. He is known but not as centres staged as other names data suggest his potential could get more real

I think that's the market we should be shopping in.
Big names carry too much risk and with the majority of clubs skint at the mo, we can't afford to be taking that on.

Even if say, Bergvall doesn't work out, along with the likes of Udogie and Sarr, we haven't gambled massively on them and should still get a decent wedge back, should we move them on.

When you look at how much Chelsea have paid for some players who really don't look that good, they've bent themselves over badly for the coming years.
They've taken a massive risk and I'm not sure it's going to work out very well for them.

If you gave me the choice of Rafinha for 70m or something unknown potential for 20-30m, I'd prefer the latter option.
We're not buying the very top players, and the level down just aren't worth the risk with their asking prices.

Agreed we have to trust our judgment on this and the background checks data etc . Any guesses before I reveal

Now I'm researching every Swedish Striker under the sun... I'm stumped. Bardghji, Larsson, or I keep coming on to Gustaf Nilsson, belgian league where he has 1 goal involvement every 2 matches, 3 goals in 4 for Sweden, and legit is taller than the trees.... maybe he casts a shadow.... LOL

It makes me wonder if the player is Dani Rodriguez from Barca. There were a number of reports from Spain a few months ago linking us to him as his contract runs out in summer. He wasn’t keen on signing a new deal but also wanted to wait until summer to asses his options. Very very talented youngster but obviously not a household name over here. And i don’t think anyone guessed him at the time.

Assane Diao. Brighton and Brentford linked..
He was already guessed at the time I’m fairly certain. Can’t remember which thread it was in. But a whole bunch of names were listed and it wasn’t any of them. The kid looks a promising prospect mind.
