That explains everything. And here I was thinking we have finally found the long awaited phrophet / ITK. It s the same feeling like when I was told santa does not exist.

Eek Santa doesn't exist??

(To keep on topic) The Christmas fixtures won't be the same...

So if we win the 1st game of the season then we'll be in the top half for the 1st time in over a year? COYS we know you can do it!

It does seem daft having two games within two days (Fulham and West Brom after Christmas), then a two week break, regardless of cup fixtures.

And yes, Worcestersauce, you're absolutley right. We can pat ourselves on the back for a great CL qualification when we have that run in.

I'm worried about our last few games ...

gotta go to Old Trafford, Goodison and Anfield in the last five games, plus Shitty at home which could be tough, we could both be fighting for Europe at that stage.

Not happy with that at all.

I'll tell you something, after reading that extract from Yeovil Town website, i take back everything i said about the fixtures. Sounds like a right headache, fair play to 'em.

Cheers TSH, have rep.

Wow - thats a good articel on the Yeovil site. When you consider local rivals can't play at home at the same time, its amazing its even possible.

I also used to assume it was done randomly (fairly) and used to wander why people complained when 2 big clubs met each other early in the season. (Strange that people never complain if two relegation rivals meet early on though).

It is slightly concerning that the clubs get a say in who they play when. It explains why Arsenal always get a very easy start to the season. This was particularly true when they started at their new stadium which is obviously a critical time in terms of momentum.

Is it me or is the last game really late? I know there is no international tournament but still.

Away Again !!!

Why is it we always get the first game of the season away ?? Not being funny or nothing but i think its taking the piss now  - surely its about time we got a home game first instead of Arsenal ?? I cant remember the last time we got that ??

If we are not able to win away on the firts game of the season, then we are not realy to be top 4! i know it sucks and we never get a home game to start with, but we really need to be able to just switch on and play no matter what, home or away

Right on.

God, the first game last season, how awful that was.

The start is vital IMO. We may still have to give Ramos one further year with his team to really see the real Ramos side but after a full pre-season i expect the players to be really motivated and with the new signings we've made(Alreaday far better than last summers useless signings) we should hopefully get a decent start. The big teams can say not win in their first 3 matches and then just go on a massive winning run until the end of the season however i don't feel we are good or consistent enough to do that and so like last season if we get a poor start we may lose momentumn and slide down the table. Under Ramos a new season, fresh start i don't see that happening. Either a draw or win 1-1 or 1-0 away to Boro and then a win at home to sunderland which probably won't be particularly easy but in theory should be and we'll have 4 points hopefully at least, be about 6th in the table and really build from there.

However if we lose either of the first 2 it could be quite disasterious for our league season. With the squad we have, we can get a good start and sustain it!

Fuck all to do with winning or losing it would just be nice to be at White Hart lane for the opening of the season, sunshine short sleeves and the sweet sweet smell of success wafting on the breeze of anticipation.

Other teams have it, arsenal have had every year but one for the last seven years where we have had it only once in the last seven years.

Still lets be gratefull for small mercies at least it's on a Saturday this year.

Only until Sky get their grubby little paws on it, not that Boro v Spurs is a big audience grabber as far as they are concerned. But wasn't last year on Saturday, just an early kick-off?
