The NHL Playoffs start on Wednesday so who is everybody's pick.

As a Penguins fan I've got to say we can make it to the Stanley Cup again. With Crosby, Malkin and Staal in the middle every team should struggle to contain them.

Conference Quarterfinals
Eastern Conference
Boston Bruins (1) vs Montreal Canadiens (8)
Washington Capitals (2) vs New York Rangers (7)
New Jersey Devils (3) vs Carolina Hurricanes (6)
Pittsburgh Penguins (4) vs Philadelphia Flyers (5)

Western Conference
San Jose Sharks (1) vs Anaheim Ducks (8)
Detroit Red Wings (2) vs Columbus Blue Jackets (7)
Vancouver Canucks (3) vs St. Louis Blues (6)
Chicago Blackhawks (4) vs Calgary Flames (5)

I've always been a Rangers fan, after that I'll be cheering for Calgary cos I know someone from Calgary...

Neither will win the Stanley Cup, though... I don't know who will as I've not really been following it all that much this season... I'll try and catch some of the games, I presume channel 5 still show it?

I don't think they will be showing it this year. When I last spoke to a mate who worked on Five's American Football coverage he said Five was considering scrapping its coverage of all American sports once the NFL and NBA seasons had finished.

If they have scrapped their coverage then I think ESPN America (use to be NASN) will be the only channel showing it.

I checked the schedules and tomorrow they've got highlights of the last week of the season followed by highlights of one of last year's final matches... Maybe they haven't as the playoffs start tomorrow...

Last game of the season on Friday.

I want Pittsburgh to win, I went to Montreal in April to see the last game of the regular season - Canadiens vs Penguins. 12 of us (all Canadian except me).. 1 was a Pens fan. So, for him, and because they won that night, I want them to win.

YEEEEEEEEES! The Pittsburgh Penguins are the 2009 Stanley Cup Champions!!!

Fleury made a wonderful double save right at the end that would've sent the game to OT. It ended 2-1 at Detroit.

Take that Marian Hossa :shake::rofl::rofl:

fucking penguins. i dont know why u are hating on hossa. he was traded to the pens at the end of his contract and had no obligation to stay there and picked success and winning a cup over money.

it's no hatred . I just find it funny how he lost the final last year and in search for cup glory he blew us off for the Red Wings and now he gets to be on the losing side once again

 Sadly (but great for us Pens fans) for him he got neither. Hossa was awful in the series.

Fleury was brilliant last night, especially considering how bad he was the last time he played in that arena.

Best of all I won about £100 when I put money on the Pens to win the Cup back in Feb.
