Deserved a point in the end.

They really went at it in the closing stages. Proud of the girls today, gave their all.

Played Matildas.

Maybe we can win our next two ? Canada & Nigeria.

Was liking the style and look of Katie McCabe - I can forgive her being a Dub but playing for Arsenal- that’s a NO from me !

NZ vs Norway was a smashing game. Tentative at the start but settled in to a good rhythym with the kiwi's really taking the game to Norway. Kiwi full back CJ Bott was pretty good in he first half. Wilkinson did a great job at number 9 for NZ. Really bossed the Norwegian backline and deserved her goal and for it to be the winner. Shame they didn't convert the penalty. It really helped build some good buzz and momentum in NZ today.

Missed the Aussie - Ireland game. Sounded close, shame the Irish lost out.

Watching the Canada-Nigeria game in the background here. It's very poor. Neither side can hold possession for up to a minute. Constant throw ins, poor passing, and poor decision making across the board. And a really bad missed pen from Canada that they might well rue later on.

I assume USA/Vietnam will be the first super one sided score.

Spain v Costa Rica was very 1 sided.

At one point the stats showed 40 shots v 1 and was at around 60 or 70 mins.

Fair enough. The US beat Thailand 13-0 last WC so I suppose one sided has various meanings.

USA shirts look like someone told a hilarious joke while everyone was drinking blueberry tea.

Spain were very dominant last night and should've had six. US completely dominant here too but haven't really converted that into goals.

There's possibly been a penalty in every game so far and the quality from the takers has been abysmal. Alex Morgan in this one with an atrocious spot kick.

Japan completely dominant against Zambia. Zambian keeper flapping at everything - despite the massive progress the women's game has made, the goalkeeping is still widely atrocious for some reason.

Apparently the Haiti keeper England will be facing today is 5'4.

The female David Raya 👀

It's not even their height that's concerning (Earps is 5'8" and is a great keeper), it's the ability to do the basics that seems to be so widely absent. It's like the women's game has no decent goalkeeping coaches 🤷‍♂️

Japan are fun to watch. Quick footed, smashing pass and move footy. Make the game look easy by making simple decisions and not taking too many touches.

Hopefully heading deep into this tournament.

Which is probably the truth. I seriously douby many female keepers at top level today have had specialised goalkeeper training through childhood. Maybe they have special training from 16 and onwards, and then only in the nations where women's football has some standing and resources poured into it.
