Crazy stuff. They're living in a hermetically sealed federation bubble where they think they are the ones who've been wronged and can act like assholes as much as they like. This can't be negotiated out, they'll have to be defeated and ousted. The vindication of the women who stayed away is fully realized. That federation needs a massive overhaul of personnel and a new operating framework. And the men's team need to step in now too.

FIFA has suspended the Spanish FA President. Congrats Spain you've managed to let FIFA be the good guys!

The guy is vice president of UEFA as well and they've been disappointingly silent on this so far. Normally they'd want to get in ahead of FIFA in any cynical moment that could win them goodwill.

I'm really surprised that there isn't more video footage of this as you'd think there would be several cameras filming the entire World Cup trophy presentation. Hopefully they can find some more footage and prove that he's a lying piece of shit.

It shouldn't be it necessary to find further angles. The camera that filmed it in the first place is pretty conclusive

He kissed her for sure, but the Spanish FA are still making claims against the player. It would be great if someone could prove everything they were saying is crap. I haven't seen a video of her lifting the guy, but from the photo it looks like he's jumping on her to me, rather than her lifting him up.

But more to the point, whether she lifted him or not has f@#k all to do with it being ok for him to kiss her on the lips

So basically they're playing the nuclear card betting the government will back off and not risk the chaos of Barca, Real Madrid and Co getting booted from Europe. Just insanity.

UEFA have enough sense to not take the action the Spanish FA are asking for, and are pretty much letting FIFA deal with it.

UEFA and its president Aleksander Ceferin have been in regular contact with FIFA about the Luis Rubiales case.

As the Women’s World Cup was a FIFA competition and Rubiales’ actions fall under their jurisdiction, it was agreed that the FIFA disciplinary bodies would deal with the case.
