I've been wondering what people think who our best players in recent years are the fact is most the players who I would put in this team currently play for us. This is mine.

Why do people always put Ledley as the right sided CB when he always plays left side?

I'd also say Ziege and Davids for BAE and Palacios.

Ginola left in summer 2000, Campbell in summer 2001, Anderton and Taricco in summer 2004. While I would ordinarily want Sheringham in there, he was not as good when he played for us this century as when we had him last century.

If you want a genuine modern era side, i.e Arnesen onwards, replace Anderton with Modric, Ginola with Dalmat, Taricco with Ekotto and Campbell with Woodgate, but if we're talking 21st century so far, then I stick to my first sumission.

Am i missing something? Kanoute was one of our most inconsistent strikers. He was good on his day, but one of our best strikers of the 21st century? No chance.

A mix of the 05/06 team with this seasons team plus Berbatov. That team would actually work perfectly together with Davids covering for Modric, Carrick pulling the strings, Lennon for pace, and the deadly strike partnership of the past 2 season.​

kanoute was no less consistent than;

Bent
Keane
Defoe
Rasiak
Iversen
Pav
Mido

etc etc.

He just got tarnished with the "lazy striker" brush in the same way Berba did. That was just his style, but his ability to hold the ball up and control the play from the front was excellent.

Kanoute? He had his moments and the general consensus was against him leaving but I don't see how anyone could have him ahead of Keane, especially when putting him alongside Berbatov. Might make Sevilla's team of the 21st century.

And surely Stevie Carr ahead of Corluka. I'd even think about Simon Davies who had an absolutely terrific season for us.
