...until the 40 point barrier, but where will we pick those much needed 12 points based on current form?

Team (H/A) Predicted pts

Boro - H 3
S'land - A 0
Villa - A 0
Chelski - H 1
B'burn - A 0
Spammers - H 3
Barcodes - H 3
Man Utd - A 0
WBA - H 3
Everton - A 0
Man Shitty - H 3
L'pool - A 0

So in other words we just make it past 40 points, based on past seasons this is horrifically bad but based on the season up till now i'd be happy, cos it should mean premiership survival, which is our number 1 priority more than anything.

Well the home ties will be where we are most likely to pick up a few wins. If we can sneak a win or a few draws away from home i think we will be fine.

13 for me. Should be enough. I think we'll lose 4 games in a row after the Boro game and everyone will be shitting themselves, but hopefully i'll be wrong. Luckily, there seems to be even shitter teams than us by the bottom so hopefully they won't pick up too many points here on in.

I don't think we will lose to either Sunderland or Villa and we will beat Boro so everyone will be thinking the job is done before we lose to Chelsea and everyone starts screaming for Harry to be sacked again

Boro - H 3
S'land - A 1
Villa - A 3
Chelski - H 0
B'burn - A 1
Spammers - H 1
Barcodes - H 3
Man Utd - A 0
WBA - H 3
Everton - A 1
Man Shitty - H 1
L'pool - A 0

So that's 17 points for me (plus failure in both our cups) leaving us with a pretty terrible season to forget asap and hope to build again (although all thanking f**k that we didn't go down)

Right now I would be happy with that, which shows just what a sorry state of affairs we are in.

Next weekend could be a great weekend for us if results go our way (and of course if we beat Utd.............)

Arsenal V Fulham - Home win?
Chelsea V Wigan - Home win?
Everton V West Brom - Home win?
Boro V Liverpool - Away win?
Villa V Stoke - Home win?
Bolton V Newcastle - Draw?
Hull V Blackburn - Draw?
West Ham V Man City - Anything!

The Bolton and Hull games are good cos they're playing teams in the shit so it might just be a good weekend, especially if we beat Boro on the Wednesday.

And even the following Tuesday 3rd March:

Liverpool V Sunderland
Pompey V Chelsea
West Brom V Arsenal

etc etc - look on the BBC site, all the fixtures have really good potential if they go as planned (like that always happens).

Villa away 3 points? You should never have stolen those rose-tinted glasses from Edgar Davids before he left.

Pools matches are very hard to predict, and Boro's record against the big 4 has been decent in the last few seasons. I wouldn't like to bet on that game, i could see it going either way.

Lets just take it one game at a time for now - hopefully we can lay on our sunbeds & have a cocktail at the end of the season ??

What were you predicting from our last 12 games two years ago? Not 27 points, I'll bet. But that's what we got.

to be honest i dont think it is beyond the realms of reason to expect us to be able to win our next 3 games. I dont buy into all this tiredness marlarky - the players should be able to cope and it could also work in our favour

Boro game is just massive. If we could potentially move 6 or more points away from the drop sign then, for the first time this season, our players would have a little bit of breathing space. With some of the fear gone, I think our class should shine through.

Under Harry I expect us to pick up more away points than we are used to. We also have a good record this season against the 'top four' so I think we can comfortably pick up the points required.

Currently no teams in the bottom 6 have won more than one league game in their last six so we should be safe.

I dont think 40 points will the safety barrier this year, with so many teams close in the bottom half and there not being a Derby this year for everyone to get 6 points from it could be a bit lower. Maybe 36-38 ish.

After last nights win I'm much more confident, how I'm looking at it is, will the other teams around us get more points than us:

Sunderland +3
Bolton +2
Hull +1
Newcastle 0
Portsmouth 0
Stoke -3
Blackburn -5
Middlesbrough -5
West Brom -6

I think with quite a few winnable home fixtures we could easily pick up more points than all these teams, especially if we beat Sunderland. But even at worst case I can't see Blackburn, Middlesbrough or West Brom gaining 5/6 points on us. We have much better goal difference which is effectively worth an extra point as well.

lets try and have some realistic optimism and maybe we could sneak into the top half by the middle of March.

Would be nice if we could do it without taking any points off Villa. Seeing them pip the goons to 4th spot will be like another cup final.

I like the cut of your jib young man! Will we also pick up a cup en route or just league domination?

With the games to come, I am as confident as I have mostly remained:
Boro - H 3
S'land - A 0
Villa - A 3 (Will be on a bad run by then for where they want to end up... CSKA (L), Stoke(W) and Man City (L))
Chelski - H 1
B'burn - A 1
Spammers - H 3
Barcodes - H 1
Man Utd - A 0 (Revenge for us beating them in the cup final)
WBA - H 3
Everton - A 0
Man Shitty - H 3
L'pool - A 0/1/3 (Last game of the season could be anything)

Total 18 ish points taking us to about 8/9th in the league with Intertoto cup football in the summer (if we do not win the fairplay laeague again)

Last 12 Games W5 D3 L4 Pts 18 - I do not see that as unreasonable if the shackles of relegation are lifted early and the cup final win is not allowed to be celebrated for more than a few months like last year
