Given pre-season form it strikes me we have the equivalent of 3 new signings in GDS, Keano and Kyle Walker.

Lets wait until they start performing in the premiership first! Pre season friendlys count for nothing - Bent and Bentley had awesome pre seasons when they joined and they didnt exactly pull up trees in their first seasons................

That said I have been hugely impressed with all 3 - particularly Kyle Walker who looks to have everything!

GDS has saved us a good £10m in transfer fees this summer. Keane is the same old Keane, hot one minute, freezing the next. Kyle walker was never really proven, no one knew what to expect so I wouldn't say he counts.

We definitely need a strong back-up keeper to Gomes though.

One gaff from the Brazilian completely throws us off the rails for a good ten minutes. It could be the difference this season.

Agree with Pringle. It's great to see those players doing well in pre-season, but putting in good performances in competitive games is a different kettle of fish altogether.

I'm sure Walker will be an important squad player for us this season, and will hopefully go on to do great things. I'm more interested in what will happen with Gio and Keane.

If Keane is willing to accept not being an automatic starter, and is able to get back to his pre-Liverpool form, then I hope he stays. Sadly I don't see it happening though...

Gio really could be the equivalent to a new signing for us if he can do the job in the Premiership. Creative, quick, versatile...I'm sure most of us would be very excited if he signed for us last week, following the world cup. I just wonder how happy he'd be staying at Tottenham.

indeed add on the return to form of jj and that makes 8

Please say you're just doing it to wind people up now. He hasn't changed one single fucking bit. One pass forward - 35,000 passes backwards. Arrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!

But a pleasing way to look at it is:

Sandro = Y. Toure
Gio = Silva

You can't quite catagorically prove they've made the better signings there ^^ and that's enough ambiguity to fuel many delusions about the coming season...Kolarov and Boateng sadly we have no answer to :cry::cry::cry:

we got our kolarav last season when Bale started stepping it up :wink:. no answer to boateng though unless Woodgate makes a miraculous recovery.

Let's not forget Danny Rose who has looked very good in a few different roles and our very own Jermaine Jenas who missed most of last season injured.

I still wanna see a back up keeper, and I really wanna see a new striker! (thats an improvement on what we have.

Does anyone think that we might be holding off to see how the champs league qualifier goes?

I like your enthusiasm, but NO WAY is GDS = Silva,... other than maybe their kit size and they speak Spanish. Frankly, happy to take Sandro over YT. I do believe GDS coming back to the squad helps alleviate the pressure to sign another wide player. But, Harry keeps saying he needs to add EXPERIENCE to the squad,... Sandro and GDS do not fit that description.

P.S. I like both players and 3+2=5,.... not 7 :wink: all apologies

I really think this will be the season when Giovani Dos Santos shines for Spurs.

He had an excellent World Cup Finals for Mexico and he's been one of the two Spurs players who have impressed me the most during pre-season (Robbie Keane is the other one).

I'm expection great things from Giovani in the next few months.

I'm happy with the squad, a world class striker would be ideal although but in saying that i reckon Pavluychenko with rest and a proper pre-season behind him could be a dark horse.

Yeah my friend is banging on about how this will be Giovani Dos Santos' season, hope so.

Can I just ask...who are these 3 signings Harry thinks will make us CL contenders?

Consensus is Bellamy, Parker and Young.

I think

a. Would Young get in the team?
b. Bellamy is a good replacement for Keane, but then again will that be enough to displace Pav, Crouch and Defoe?
c. Parker is a good CM but will he make us league contenders? no

The way things are looking there is as much chance of Crouch going than Keane. I'd keep a goal scoring happy Keane than a unhappy Crouch.

p.s. I agree with your assement of Parker and Young but think that GDS can do everything that Bellamy can do hence see no point in going for him.
