Who will be our 6 English players in our first 11 next season?
Is Ramos thinking short term by buying non-English and is he here for the long term?

" FIFA President Joseph S Blatter made a strong plea in favour of the 6+5 rule, which basically provides that a club team must start a match with at least six players that would be eligible for the national team of the country in which the club is domiciled. " ENGLAND.

We could play enough English players but would the team be our best 11 to get us into top 4?

It's not going to come in for at least 4 seasons.

So the team Ramos is building is short term?

Not necessarily. There will be many transfer windows before now and when/if this rule is introduced. Don't panic, my dear boy.

That is the key word.

And for tax purposes it means:

  1. Domicile

Domicile involves complex issues of law. An individual can be resident in more than one country at the same time, but can only have one domicile. A person is generally domiciled where his or her permanent home is situated. A ‘domicile of origin' is acquired at birth, normally from one's father. The domicile of a minor normally follows that of the person on whom he or she is legally dependant (a ‘domicile of dependency'). However, a ‘domicile of choice' can be acquired from age 16. This broadly involves leaving the current country of domicile to settle in another country, and requires strong proof of having moved to the other country permanently or indefinitely. Living in another country is not conclusive evidence of an intention to change domicile.
So in theory every single Spurs player can be Domiciled in the UK, and many would as our tax system is favourable to many countries (for high earners it is quite simple to "mitigate" tax liability in the UK).

But they have to be able to play for England.

The rule is Bullshit anyway. What are they trying to achieve? Better national teams? Only one team can win.

I still don't get how this is legal. Also, I don't get how this breeds better national teams. It just breeds better national teams for maybe the big leagues, mainly Spain and England. Germany, Italy, and France have no trouble producing top talent, and neither does Spain really. This rule is pretty much Anti-EPL. If I wanted to watch a bunch of teams full of players from the same country, I'd just watch international games...
