So true,a lot of people never saw Greavesie in his prime which was probably about 1957 to 64
And because there wasn't wall to wall TV so much of his greatness is lost forever, except in a few fading memories.
But thankfully there is enough footage, often poor quality, to keep his memory
Of course Sky just concentrate on the Prem Era, hence the disgraceful truth twisting that lots of people think Shearer is the top goalscorer, when Greavesie outscored him comfortably
Notice BTW they never say Liverpool have only won one title, they always credit them with twenty or whatever.
But when it comes to goalscorers no it all started in 92
One of the many reasons I hate Sky
The reasons why we are all in this SC forum together, will ensure none of us forget the legends of our past. Posts like yours, have sent an old boy like me, to YT, and made me grateful for my own memories. The goals the great man scored against Newcastle & Manchester United are my 2 favourites... So many memories not all good, but that's life. I still believe we will create something special under Conte. COYS.

Hi SL, I too am hopeless at phone links. If Cyrils advice doesn't work try 1962 Leicester spurs heavy roller you tube
That should do it
As I've said the guy, the heavy roller has put an absolute treasure trove of stuff up
Can't emphasize enough how fantastic it is, it truly brings our greatest ever team back to life, happy viewing
If you still can't find it I'll suggest some alternative search phrases for Google

My first game was v Derby on the 7th April 1971. My dad took me and I remember sitting down with a decent view of a huge stadium. So only a mere child at 50 years.
We won 2-1 with Chivers and Pearce scoring. Then went again 3 days later v Ipswich 10th April 1971, I remember that my Brother took me to white hart lane this time to stand, I also remember sitting on one of the barriers so I could see at least some of the game. We won 2-0 chivers and an own goal. Some memories never leave you!

I am going to be 83 this summer. My father took me to my first game around 1952/3 when I was 12/13 and I remember it was against Blackpool because my stepmother was a friend of George Farm the Blackpool goalkeeper.
It was spurs signing of Danny Blanchflower in 1954 that really made me get baptized as a spurs man. I spent the next years 1960 - 2007 working abroad in all parts of the world and applied for my season ticket. Been going regularly since then but this will probably be my last season as it's a bit of a trek getting to the stadium from the new house in Tunbridge Wells.

An evening in late November 1972, home to Red Star Belgrade. I can remember it as if it was yesterday, my parents were horrified I went as I had some important exams coming up very shortly. The Lane was absolutely rammed. It had not occurred to me, until I looked upthread, to see what was on Youtube, and there were the goals. I hadn't seen them since that day. The second one by Gilly was as good a goal as this club has ever scored. Great day.

I was at all those home UEFA cup ties, still a schoolboy, glory nights. Stood in the Park Lane for the ties, up on The Shelf for the semi and in The Paxton for the final 2nd leg. I was at the Molyneux 1st leg of course and that's one of the most memorable nights in my footballing history

Greaves scored against Leicester.
WHL.
Alan Clarke was up front for them.
Brian Moore and his camera team, delayed, missed the greatest goal Greavsie scored at WHL, IMHO.
A grainy photo exists showing 3 or 4 Leicester players sitting dejected on the mud as he jinked around them all several times, on crutches, after eye surgery. We were attacking Paxton Road end with the cameras being erected on The Shelf.
We won 3-1.
"The Big Match" missed it but did catch the remaining 87 minutes.
Not my first home game. That was in '62, when my late Gooner brother ( he was at school in Tottenham), took me one evening with his school mates. Couldn't see a thing until these old geezers let me through, lifted me up, lent me a box to stand on, crunching the peanut shells. Memories and sounds rattling, literally!

I remember that goal. I remember standing awe-struck as the great man slotted the ball home. It was the perfect goal and so typical of him. The Sunday paper pictures of him leaving the Leicester defence on their arses, as he passes the ball into an empty net with looks of despair are now legendary in their own rite.

Great stuff Harry, do I detect a slight rewriting of history with the Leicester goal ?
