Even just reading about it I feel like I'm remembering the club as it should be.

We've lost something and I don't know what that is.

Maybe too many new players or managers.

I don't know...

How great to see Davids, King, Sheringham, Ginola and Berbatov in the same team!!!

From the sounds of things, we haven't lost anything...it's just been temporarily misplaced.

The night that reminded of my why I truly love this club.

Fantastic entertainment, and great to see old favourites strutting their stuff. Good banter from Freund, Holtby and Howard Webb (fair play!) amongst others.

Moments of magic to remember from Davids, Anderton and Ginola and what a fantastic Spurs' goal Anderton>Berbatov>Sheringham with a delightful finish.

Ledley is an incredible man and what a talent. I've barely met the guy (signed my cousins shirt out of his Bentley window) but I love him like he was family. That is what football is about.

Darren Lewis at the Mirror said it best IMO:

"We live in an era where the contribution of a footballer is measured in pound signs and silverware.

The career of Ledley King - a man unable to have a kickabout with his son because of the state of his knees - shows there is so much more of a barometer than that.

Other players may have more medals. Few, however, can match him for the esteem in which he will always be held"

Tonight was a big F-you to modern football, something that is ruining the game. It was about passion and love. Some current players watching may have realised this club is more special than they thought, and may cast a jealous glance at Ledley tonight realising he will forever be a legend at this football club. Immortal.

Carrick and Berbatov may have some PL and even a CL medal, but they will never have a night like tonight, and they will never be remembered as a legend at a famous football club.

Not every player deserves this honour however, luckily Ledley King is fully deserving of it by every measure.

Thank you Ledley, not least for bringing back my love for Spurs at a time when they are very hard to stomach. Legend.

I've cried twice in my 30 years on this planet. The day I was born and when Ledley was subbed for the last time.

Was a fantastic night, we haven't had an atmosphere like that in a while. Perfect send of for our King.

That was a beautiful evening.

I started supporting the club in the early 90s but only really got to go to games from 95-96 onwards. It was like seeing my Spurs supporting life on one pitch at once, with the most positive and excitable atmosphere in the ground as if we were all there for the first time again.

And there, at the centre of it all, was Ledley.

Non-Spurs fans don't really understand why we love him so much. They know we rate him as one of the greatest English defenders of all time and they appreciate that we love him for his loyalty. But it's more than just that.

Ledley is one of the most softly spoken, good natured sportsmen I have ever seen. He didn't like the spotlight and often seemed embarrassed by his talent, preferring to focus on the team effort and his team mates.

He was the embodiment of the great English leader. Powerful, modest, dedicated, talented, never feeling sorry for himself and always leading by example.

For years to come coaches will use him as a perfect example of a player and a character, and rightly so.

Tonight meant a great deal to everyone in the stadium, it was obvious. It reconnected what has started to feel disconnected and was the perfect send off for a true legend.

COYS!

For those eager to get some footage etc. Might have been posted but just in case one person has missed it -that would be a shame

"Go to Ledley’s microsite - King of the Lane - for brilliant behind-the-scenes footage from Monday’s Testimonial, following Ledley throughout his special night and including interviews with Teddy Sheringham, Darren Anderton, Paul Robinson and Edgar Davids. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/king-of-the-lane/

Highlights of Ledley’s Testimonial will appear exclusively and free on Spurs TV on Tuesday..."

Did sherwood play at all? OS doesn't have him down.... and I thought someone had mentioned he did earlier in this thread. It does have Ginola replacing Ginola at half time though?

I've just got in and I'd do it all again tomorrow for Ledley. Unbelievable evening !

My only small gripe is programme scalpers. I didn't manage to get one because "some bloke just bought all mine" from 1 seller and "we'd sold out 15 minutes before kickoff" from the mega store. I hope they do a second run because I looked on eBay when we stopped for a coffee and there was already some on for £20 plus postage. ****s. The lot of em.

First time posting, just want to say what an immense send off for an immense man. A lot of the highlights of the night have been mentioned but i think Robbo coming on and being asked for a song by the park lane to his reply "shh, shh, STAND UP IF YOU HATE ARSENAL" was a great moment. Tonight united the fans in what has been a difficult season in all aspects, really looking forward to next season now.(Long live the King)

Here's a picture my son took after Sheringham's first goal (as described so well by Spartan Spur).

Those five together yesterday were a joy to watch.
But not only them, the whole night.

A great tribute to a great man. We somehow need to bottle the spirit of Ledley to pass on to all our young players and the spirit of the night to pass on to every Spurs supporter who takes their seat in White Hart Lane.
Then, win, lose or draw, there will still be a special feeling going to WHL that money can't buy.

That was just amazing. Such an amazing night. The park lane was fucking rocking! Too many highlights to mention but yeah. Reminded me what it is to be Spurs. Special mention to the guy behind me shouting "I fucking love you Darren." And when he went off "I fucking love you ruel fox"

Reading all the posts by those who were there and it is amazing.

It seems we have our Spurs back, we love our club, and can't wait for the new season.

Who said Levy was stupid for playing this game so close to the end of the season? Kudos to the bald midget assassin.

Watching the interviews, and reading the reports here, a genuine lump in my throat and tear in my eye. Only wish I could have been there.

About time the Club did this for one of our only modern day legends. Long Live The King.

We are delighted to announce that The Ledley King Testimonial Committee will be staging a match at White Hart Lane to celebrate Ledley's career on Monday May 12, kick-off 8pm.

Our Legendary former captain will lead a Ledley Guest XI from his playing days against the current First Team on what is sure to be a special night of nostalgia and excitement at the Lane.

Good causes chosen by Ledley will also benefit and will be announced shortly.

The former England international made 323 appearances for the Club during a career which saw him lead the team to League Cup glory at Wembley in 2008 and help secure Champions League qualification for the first time in our history in 2009-10 before calling time on his playing career in the summer of 2012.

He has since spent the past two years as a Club Ambassador and has worked closely with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to support a number of projects aimed at creating life changing opportunities for people in the local community, as well as engaging regularly with the Club's fanbase both on matchdays and through specific supporter events at home and abroad.

Ledley, a rare breed in modern-day football in being a one-club man, is relishing the prospect of stepping out onto the pitch at the Lane one last time for this showcase fixture.

"I am delighted to be given this game by the Club," said Ledley. "It will be an extremely emotional evening for me, especially to play again at White Hart Lane in front of our amazing fans and I will savour every moment. This Club is so special to me and I hope that the fans can share in what will be a great night."

Chairman Daniel Levy added: "Ledley is one of the greatest players to wear the colours of this Club and we look forward to recognising his great service and loyalty with this game. It will be a memorable evening for everyone."

Keep an eye on tottenhamhotspur.com for further updates on who will form the squad for the Ledley Guest XI

Lets just say, his name was read out as a sub and not many of the fans agreed with that call so it never happen:)

The most enjoyable evening I have been to at White Hart Lane. It was such a fun and easy going atmosphere. Robbo, Freund and Holtby were class.

I thought Howard Webb was really good as well. Took a lot of things in good humour.

Fantastic night. After a fraught season it was like a giant Spurs love festival.

Great atmosphere and send of from a great club and great fans for a great player.

Has anyone got a photo of that brilliant Ledley flag- the one with a portrait of him and "God Save Our King" on it?

I want to put it on my Facebook, so please post it on here if you have it.

Amazing game.... no event last night. It was more than just a game, it really was a celebration of Ledley King. The score didn't matter but I was please that the Legends beat the current players, showed my kids that I don't make up how good some of the players were. Everyone seemed to love playing, Ade diving, Davids nutmegging Eriksen, Eriksen doing it back (that went on a lot), Ginola silky skills (he may be grey, but god can he still play), Teddy and Berba joining up perfectly and Ledley scoring a pen...... that was just all in the first half!:D

It was like watching kids playing when all they cared about was playing football, hate to say it but "Jumpers for goal post" when it wasn't all about money. I know it will always be about money when we normal play, it's just a shame that the players can't enjoy things more. Even the Ref and Lineo had a giggle with the players and fans, tbh maybe we should be a bit nicer to them in a Prem match as well.

Ledley was and is a much loved person with every Tottenham fan, it was a fitting send off as the match was played with a huge amount of "Love". It wasn't just the fans, but jesus did they create a great night. Mexican wave went round 5ish times, "Holtby we want you to stay" was sang as loud as anything, but then so was the same when we sang about the ref..... sorry if I am going on but it was an amazing night. Anyone that missed it or even went I would buy the DVD, as I don't think there will be many night like that at the Lane again. Very proud to be a Tottenham fan this morning, I am normally but today even more so. The only ting of sadness I have is a silly one, looking at the legend team. Just imagine if we had kept them players and they played together really, even just for one season. Think of the things they could of done..... Glorious.
