What a great night, my son came with me who is 19, all he kept saying was look at the way Anserton can ping a ball he could teach Lennon a thing or two. It was great to see his reaction to this great players like Ginola, Sherringham who gave up thier time to celebrate Ledley's career.

I am so glad i was part of that night

From the sounds of things, we haven't lost anything...it's just been temporarily misplaced.
Hopefully the reaction toward the former players will inspire the current crop, you'd have to be made of stone not to be moved by that atmosphere.

Lets just say, his name was read out as a sub and not many of the fans agreed with that call so it never happen:)
Yeah I was in the ground at that point too. Seemed they were gauging the reception he would get. Personally thought it was pantomime boos followed by a bigger cheer. It would have all been in good spirits.

I really hope they at least put some highlights up of this - sounds like an awesome night

Fair play to Howard Webb too, good lad.

Most things were, but I wasn't sure either way. I am not sure anyone was, so probably did the best thing. However considering Dawson got "Booed" I am sure no one would of wanted to ruin the atmosphere....... yet it is Sherwood who knows:D

One of the reports on the match;

'Tim Sherwood still got a share of abuse, perhaps surprisingly for a man who, for whatever his faults, is thoroughly committed to this club. The Tottenham manager’s name was read out before kick-off and an element of the crowd booed. That was unfortunate.

Sandro, the man accused of treating his manager like a ‘supply teacher’, got the same response when he took his first touch'.

--------

The daily mail, everone. Missing irony since 1935.

What a great evening and a fitting send off for Ledders. I have one hell of a sore throat and absolutely no voice left.

It was so worth it. :D

Haha just remembered Dawson tackled (fouled) Ginola and the chants of "off, off, off, off, off" rang out. Smiles all round followed by "Ginola, Ginola, Ginola" and "One Michael Dawson".

This thread should not be seen as those who went rubbing it in, by the way, it was just a damn good night that we want to talk about.

That's astonishing, even by the Mail's standard. What is thier overall assertion then - that we hate both Sherwood and Sandro?

A great legend Ledley and he would probably still be playing if it wasnt for those knees. All the best Leds - hope you manage us one day! (y)

It's just twatty journalism isn't it. Whoever wrote that piece would've 100% heard boos for every one of the current squad when they touched the ball. And they would've 100% known it was ironic because everyone wanted the legends to get on the ball.

But Sherwood did get genuine boos when his name was read out in the squad. When the squad was announced again he wasn't named...

We boo'd the whole spurs 11, not just Sandro, it was a joke, hire anyone could think we were boo'ing them seriously must be void of a personality.

What a fantastic night last night was, a truly fitting send off for a true and proper legend.

Before last night, I was beginning to fear that my love for Spurs was diminishing, but last night really did rekindle my love for this fantastic club.

If anyone missed it, I'm going to try and recreate everything in my back garden in Benfleet on Saturday afternoon. There's a woman at the end of the road with one leg so she's obviously playing King. Would be nice to see you all - and if no-one else turns up, I may end up trying stuff with her stump, so win win really.

I've had a great time reading all the reports from you guys - have a big grin on my face. It's wonderful to hear about what a send-off he got and how many were there to support him.

And some of this stuff has made me very misty-eyed. It's definitely raining on my face right now.

Just pissed off that I didn't get a programme, my dad got there before the rest of us (the traffic from Essex was absolutely dog shite) and he didn't think to get one. :(

I was in the club shop after the game last night and loads of people were going in asking for programs only to be told they'd sold out.

The bloke who served me in the shop told me that people were offering £30 for a programme last night.

So pleased I managed to pick mine up before the game.

Will you be putting the piece of wood in the corner for everyone to boo at?

Yep I was focusing more on the Sandro bit. There were boos for Sherwood and it was pretty awkward. His picture came up on the screen but the announcer didn't know his number so there was a long pause before his name was read out, during which there were several boos, but when they actually said his name there was a large cheer, probably from people embarrassed by the booing. I couldn't really tell if the boos were pantomime or real, but the 'Sherwood out' thread would suggest they were real. The only negative of the night really, aside from Hoddle not being there.
