Couldn't find any relevant thread so apologies if this has been posted before.

All the stupid chants, overheard conversations and general daftness that you hear at matches goes in here.

Guy behind me, last season v Man Utd; "I'd hate to see Ronaldo in a Spurs shirt" Eek

I used to stand to the right of the goal on the Paxton in the early 90s. Every game there'd be a guy near me who, just before Erik Thorstvedt/Ian Walker was about to take a goal kick would shout "Come on Ian/Erik. Big kick up the middle." I think I listened to that 5 times a game for 20 games a season for 4 years.

'Get Keane off, bring on Pav!'

(Keane goes off, Pav comes on and misses a chance)

'No wonder you're not in the fucking starting 11!'

Bird behind me Saturday - "Defoe is a f**king waste of space". Approximately 3 minutes before the league's top scorer added our third.
Then "Wish they'd f**king sub Keane".
When all 3 subs were on the pitch.
To be fair her boyfriend/husband did look like he was regretting the decision to take her out for the day.

Fuck off Keane/Pav/Jenas/Huddlestone/O'Hara/Crouch/Bent/BAE/Lennon/Defoe/Corluka/Hutton/Gomes/Cudicini/Harry*

*delete as appropriate

In fact virtually everyone over the last 15 years has fallen foul of our fickle fans. The only ones currently exempt seem to be Modric, Krancjar and Palacios. But its only a matter of time. People have already started on Palacios.

There is an irritating twat who sits behind me in the East Upper - he moans about everything on the pitch and everything off it, standing up, singing, anything. But he sees it fit to talk shit about the south bank show during the game. Fuck off!

Took my old man to the Peterborough game on Saturday, 30 minutes in - "Does this wanker behind me ever shut up talking about shit?"

The guy who sits in front of me constantly 'coaches' the team. It's "show for him, Lennon", "wide, wide!!","show him the inside", "Come wide Palacios", "Up the wing Benny" etc etc. I often wonder how on earth our players would know what to do if he wasn't there to tell them...........;-)

Many many many examples...some little beauties...

"Why risk King 2 games in succession in such a short space of time...thats just mental" (King wasn't on the pitch...it was Bassong)

"Jenas you're a fucking useless piece of shi.......oh what a fucking goal...Jenas you fucking beauty!!!"

"Fuck me, I've never seen a more fucking lackadaisical **** in all my life" (Directed at Chimbonda and included for the use of the word lackadaisical at a football match surrounded by expletives)

Random - "Crouch is coming on"
Me - "Nah thats Pav...he's been warming up for ages"
Random - "No, it's Crouch, Pav wasn't even in the team"
Me - "No, he was on the bench, and he's coming on"
Board goes up showing #9 coming on...
Random "See its Crouch!!!"

Standing at the beginning of a match this season chatting to a random bloke asking who the team was as I had arrived late. He told me, but then went "For some reason they have Bale and Jenas on the pitch warming up, but they're not on the bench" I count the subs (there are 7) and ask him what he means...."well they listed 7 subs on the screen, but they can only have 5, so someones made a serious mistake"!!

When I went to my first game vs Wolves in December, I know great luck I had, the lanuage I heard was shocking. Now I dont mind a the odd swear word but everything was just sheer abuse, and not towards Wolves players or fans but towards our own. Think I was defo in the hardcore end? South Stand Upper Tier, there was one guy who was funny everytime Daws got the ball "go on Beckham" lol. Some of the other stuff was just stupid, Wolves player running past "rape him", "F**k off to celtic Keane" and and "u facking CAANT!!" every 5 minutes. Cant wait to get back over :).

Two nonsense chants from this season:

Super Pav - he's not super

Nah nah nahnah nah nah, waaaaaayheyhey, Luca Modric - the worst song I can remember hearing down the Lane, it just doesn't fit. Even though I think he is is our best player I just can't bring myself to sing it...

Game v West Ham. Guy behind me goes after 85 minutes "Huddlestone's been very quiet today, he's done nothing."

... he was man of the match...

I think a lot of fans have a tendency to criticize central midfielders if they do not score or assist because other then that they do not notice any other contribution such as passing, tackling or running. Carrick was victim to the same kind of comments even when he was playing really well.

Donki, I agree the level of hostility is amazing and the language is unbelieveable. I remember cringing at times when I started to bring my son over for the odd game.

The thing that really interests me though is the hostility toward the away support - for no other reason than that they are there. I'll always remember the semi final against Arsenal, two guys in front of me spent the time facing the away supporters baiting them and hardly watched the game. What's that about, why pay big money to go to a game and not watch it?

I will admit that I have said negative things about 1 or 2 of our players in the past during a match but never shouted it. It won't do any good and who wants to hear your negative opinion?

When we went 2-0 down to Everton a few years ago despite them being down to 10 men, I started to say some things about Davids because he kept giving the ball away. Unfortunately other people around me started to agree with me and what started as my own cursing at Davids in frustration escalated into a torrent of abuse from a section of the south stand towards him. I felt a little bit guilty. In a way I was not happy with my own actions.
