We were rumoured to be signing this kid instead of Downing in January. He's playing for England under-21's at the moment and looks real quality. This guy is quick and tricky and with a decent cross on him too. Could he be our intended left winger??? Our boy O' Hara's having a good game too.

Huddlestone and Lennon were left out. Pearce wanted to try unproven players as opposed to ones he knew could do the business.

O'Hara played. Was involved quite a bit from the little I saw but the final ball was lacking somewhat. Adam Johnson was motm and had quite a few jinky little runs.

From what I hear they expect big things from him in the future at Boro. He is suppose to be a quicker version of Downing. Now Downing has signed a contract extension it might be worth a bid. Friend of mine os a Watford season ticket holder and when he was on loan earlier in the season he kept raving about how good he was a hoped that they could keep him until the end of the season but said that he was to good for them to sign permanently

He looks a little skinny though. Is he being bossed around playing for boro at the moment. Looked quick, but like i said, a bit slight

People said the exact same about Lothar Matthaus when he first started playing.

I know a few people from 'Boro and they only ever seem to say positive things about the guy. In fact, a few of them wanted 'Boro to sell Downing to us as they felt that Johnson will be a better player then him and a more responsible person off the pitch as well.
