Anyone know what the deal is with him? It looks like he's going to stay and has been no where near the squad! He wasn't great last year but he adds something different to our forward line and we're paying him a shed load of money so why is he no where to be seen?

Absolute waste of money, does he even want to play football anymore? Shocked he can't get on the bench, can't be his fitness. He started to look pretty good towards the end of last season.

Now's his chance to prove he's fit and get back into the team. There's a good player in him, if he can be arsed or interested to played. Hope we can see the Ade who finished the season as he's not going anywhere at least until the winter window.

Now i think about it didn't his brother die or something similar in pre season? May explain why he hasn't been around. It just seems to be things happening (his transfer taking all summer last year so no pre season training, ACN) that stop him from kicking on. Maybe the Ade from two years will return this year. I hope so.

If he comes into training and sees the kind of talent in the squad now, and still doesn't feel the urge to really knuckle down, i'll be quite surprised. Must be tremendous motivation coming into work with such a fresh project made up of such impressive talent, so fingers crossed.

Get him fit and around the first team Ade will come good-Soldado can't be expected to play the whole season he will have to be rested rotated

???? Are you not thinking of Anelka???? Dude, if so, Anelka has and never will play for us. His agent died.

A bit of a strange one that he's staying. Though that, along with Benny, he was offski considering he's not played a part this year so far. I've just realised that this isn't the second season he's not had a pre-season with us, I hope that doesn't impede him. Then again, I don't think he can get any worse than last year.

Look, he had an awful season last year, but we know he can be a good player if he puts his mind to it. I hope he knuckles down because I see him as being a better choice to bring on to partner Soldado if we need 2 up front. I hope he gets his shit together.

Absolutely vital that we see a change in his performance levels.

Could actually be a huge player for us this season if we can get him to start producing like he was a year ago.

Has to be managed properly.

I'm going to post this while the negs are turned off :playful:

How about Ade starting as left forward in a sort of 4-3-2-1

Lloris
Walker - Kaboul - Vertonghen - Rose
Paulinho - Eriksen - Sandro
Lamel - Adebayor
Soldado
The main reason I thought of this is that for a striker, Ade always spent a lot of time on the left wing, frustratingly at times because I wanted to see him in the box. He's also technically sound and has an eye for a pass and a decent cross. The glaringly obvious negative would be that he might not get back to defend when we don't have the ball. That would be why you'd have to play Sandro or another DM on the left of the three to cover any gaps, but it could still leave space for the opposition to attack.
It's just an idea though, thoughts?

Ha ha I was just about to say the same thing. He spends most his time on the left when he starts for us anyway so you could just tell him he's playing up front.

Maybe as a sub in a deadlock or a losing position. Wouldn't start with a team like that though. Ade cannot defend to save his life (still haunted by his tackle on cazorla last year) so I'd be extremely hesitant starting him on that side especially with Rose there. He is a technically gifted player and something tells me he would work well with Eriksen.

In any case hope they stop him from going for ACN this year. Please DL put your foot down.

i'll say this while the negs are turned off. ade would've been far more useful on sunday than soldado, assuming he wouldn't have gotten himself sent off.

That would be my biggest fear although when Ade is on top of his game, he works like a man possessed. It would only work if was 100% committed to the role.

In hindsight you could be right although Soldao was unlucky that his shot was blocked by Koscielny. It was going in and it could have really put us on the front foot.

Oh, wait till the negs come back! I've got you registered and reminded! Neg City Arizona!

He's a dreadful player once he has his mega salary guaranteed. That's why he says: "I'm not a lazy player." Until he gets trousering guaranteed then he can't be bothered to lift a finger.

Could be a dangerous front three.
