It is amazing what they are doing, I don't remember Chelsea being this brash about it, at least they had already qualified for CL when the russian empire started, and he wasn't even talking about silly wages like this.

If hughes can get them playing, they really could challenge for title...

I hope not though :)

You think?

Until the last couple of days I couldn't see them getting much higher than where they finished this season. They finished below us even with the start we had. Since Harry we have been miles better than them. Couldn't really see how signing Barry and Santa Cruz was going to change a pretty poor side by very much. They would still have a worse side on paper than us Villa and Everton in my opinion. Cruz is nothing special (certainly by Top 4 standards) and is always injured and Barry whilst being good is hardly going to be the inspirational force to drag a team from mediocrity to challenger.

Now they have added Tevez and Adebayor. OK, slightly different. But not so much. The problem they have now is they seem to be replacing better part of their team. Adebayor will most likely rotate with Cruz. One is lazy and greedy the other is injury prone. Combined they may make for a decent target man option. Tevez is likely to play in place of Wright-Philips. Sure it is an upgrade. But still not enough for me yet to even challenge the top 4. I can't see them being consistent enough.

They still have a horrible defence and the squad harmony there is going to be a nightmare.

Don't think they have a hope of challenging this season. Hope those aren't famous last words.

I really hope not either IOMLS.

But, they get a player like Terry at the back, and I believe they will be contenders, okay maybe outside, but could leapfrog, the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

They have these wonderful strikers a few bloody good wingers, Ireland and Barry in the middle, goalkeeper is decent, and defense would be hugely improved with the likes of Terry.

They are snapping up everyone, it is unbelievable.

I so hope they fail though :)

I think theres still a big gap between them and the top 2/3 tbh. But they're not that far off really. They need to gel this season and sort the defence out. It'll be somewhat of a transitional period with these new signings. But i do think they will compete with Arsenal for 4th spot. I'm not sure whether we can compete with those 2 this season. A top 7 finish would be our top priority i'm sure. I wont mind if City knock Arsenal off 4th spot though.

No. Try a famous two-word line from a Shakespeare play that ends with 'Brute' and you'll probably be close.

Arse will lose a very good player, but I really hope that Wenger can waste the money on a new Jeffers or something.....:)

Woolwich Mania is a pretty good forum, considering it's full of reds - it's got it's fair share of wankers, but where hasn't?

I've not logged in there in a while, maybe i should just to keep my account active for when we tonk them at the Lane this season

Apparently he is now stalling for AC Milan to get involved. Think it's just paper BS as he would be waiting a very long time for Milan as they can't afford anyone at the moment

Well Milan seem to have stumbled on their attempts to sign Fabiano, who had a buy ouy clause of about £25m. So if they weren't prepared to pay that for their number one target, they're unlikely to pay out for Ade. I think Milan will get Huntelaar and we'll get Negredo. Arsenal will probably get Chamakh.
