Perfect signing till the end of the season as he'll want one more decent contract.
He'll score for fun

Funny they had all window to sign him but waited till after we played them. Anyone think we had something to do with it?

It may be any shortfall?

So knowing Ade, he'd want 1 pound a week from palace with a big signing on fee. Surely there's a rule against that if we had to pay a shortfall?

No, more likely we don't have to pay a shortfall at all. If we do then there's no way he could join palace without our agreement, in which case they'd have to pay him a decent wage.

On his day he was unplayable and that's the Ade I'd love to remember. He could have been one of the top players of his generation but unfortunately through a combination of being spoilt, mentally unstable and having what can only be described as a truly horrible family (if the press is to be believed) continually unsettling him he will probably be known as the biggest parasite in English football.

He'll be great for them until the end of season and will get some great service from Zaha and Bolasie then probably chip off to China/USA for a final pay off. Although we do ridicule him the cash he chases I understand he gives a 3rd of his salary away to charities in his country.. Fair play

If he on a short term deal then he will be fired up to get a permanent deal like in his first season everywhere. It will be like having a rogue spy
Wonder if Citeh & the Goons have that exact thought!

I am glad he has found a club to take him and I wish him all the best. No matter whatever some Tottenham fans think about him, he did score 42 goals for us and did a reasonable job for the club. Let's hope he scores against some of our rivals for a top four place.

Actually this is what pisses me off he was awesome or utter shit, but not like oh his had s bad game he would be amazing bully every defender score, create have an amazing touch, then 6 months late be terrible bullied by defenders, no touch and a lazy piece of shit because he could not be arsed. This is why I resent Ade he could have been a world beater but has thrown his talent away wasted his career and been a money grabbing dick head.

I'll never forget that goal vs Chelski, and how awesome that team was; Ade, Bale, VdV, Lennon with Modric feeding them.

Oh, Adebayor.

He was a pain in the arse, yes, but let's not forget he also saved our arses a lot of times too. The lasting image I'll have of Adebayor is him running over and saluting our fans after every goal when he was banging them in for fun at the tail end of the 13/14 season. It was important for him to be liked by us, and for that time at least, he was. We are, after all, the club he's spent the largest segment of his career with.

I actually feel pretty sorry for Ade. As someone who has been battling with PTSD for the past five years, I can only imagine what he's been through every day since the Togo bus shooting in 2010. It's easy to forget that players are human too, but I think the aftermath of that incident essentially ruined his career for him. I have first hand experience of how much of a pain in the arse you can inadvertently become without meaning to when you're suffering serious internal turmoil.

I know he has a reputation as a mercenary, and to some he is, but he's always made it clear that half of his earnings go straight back to Togo to help the poor and disadvantaged in his home country. That's why he plays football, that's why earning big bucks is important to him, and I think that's both understandable and commendable. One bad injury could end his career at any moment and at that point the cash flow stops. Make hay while the sun shines etc.

Thanks for the goals big guy. I wish him well.
