EVERYBODY PANIC! Mauricio Pochettino is set to start Emmanuel Adebayor up front for Sunday's match against Stoke, with Harry Kane again on the bench.

Others may not agree but starting will put a lot of pressure on young shoulders. Keep him ready as a (hopefully) impact sub for Stoke.

Its probably because Kane is seen as starter for the Europa league games to continue his education.

Stoke play like thugs too, with Adebayour having more experience, so in some ways it makes a bit of sense.

That said, i would not have been against Ade being put into the Europa and Kane starting against stoke, but I will trust the Spurs Management to make the right decision on Kane's progress plan.

This will show Ade that the manager has faith in him, hopefully this kicks him up the backside and gets him firing.

A firing Adebayor is our only hope of a Top 4 finish.

Wait, so the other 10 league starts, a leadership role and giving him the job back like his 2nd or 3rd day back with the team from malaria couldnt do the trick but giving him another league start over the only striker we have who is actually scoring and the other striker who adds more to the team even when he doesnt score will do the trick? Well, that's just being wildly optimistic.

With Ade, it's a problem of motivation. And it's an even bigger problem that it takes drastic measures to get him motivated.

Ade just might surprise all of us; he just needs to get scoring again.....keep Kane wrapped in cotton-wool for another few weeks (he can be our impact sub while doing this), it's a long season yet. I bet we will have need of both of them before it's all over

How many chances are we going to give Adebayor? He has to feel like the Universe revolves around him before he produces the goods and in the meantime gets to jog around and miss sitters whilst better players who work hard and give a toss watch from the sidelines.

I remember a Sky interview with him last season, where he said his biggest motivation to play well is his nephew that he effectively cares for as his brother died.
Seems that didn't last very long...

Only Spurs could ignore Kanes form..and put Ady in no one else would put up with him its baffling. We can say he needs, this, that, sure where Spurs and good see Fans backing players to certain point etc But can we all just wake up in the real world please. Its ridiculous thers no excuse that Kane shouldnt start he's only one consistently putting it in the net.

I am with Pochettino on this one - if it's true - as I believe that Stoke are the sort of team a mercurial Ade will bother to turn up against. I also think tomorrow night is a good opportunity for Soldado and Kane to gain a little bit more experience of working together and hopefully boost Soldado's confidence in front of goal, with a view to the pair of them working upfront together in the future - it could potentially be a beautiful thing. Or perhaps I've left the lid off the creosote again! I like everyone else was clamouring for Kane to start in the Premier League. However, with the ridiculous amount of media coverage he seems to be getting, I am now thinking that at this stage of his development it is better for him to not have all the weight of our goalscoring expectation fall on his shoulders alone.

Play a striker when he's firing, or you could be left with all strikers out of form
