The Togolese striker's wages are proving prohibitive to other clubs but the player is unwilling to head elsewhere for less - unless Spurs subsidise him to do so.

I've always sort of liked the man and still think I would enjoy his company, but as a Spurs player (him, not me), I've just had an epiphany and moved from the 'give-him-a-chance' camp to the 'fuck-off-Ade' camp.

You've accumulated more wealth than the combined savings of thousands of Spurs fans, most of whom have worked hard at jobs that give them little if any pleasure, while you've been adulated and showered with treasures for doing something you love.

Get real, Emmanuel.

Wonder if any of the Ade apologists will turn up with their 'He gives a lot of it to charity' mantra. Bloke is a complete narcissist (and a greedy one at that) but it's the clubs fault for pandering to his greed in the first place. We're stuck with him.

Blame Levy he's the one that agreed to pay him such high wages, it took all summer to sort out a deal, I said at the time we should move on to the next striker on the list.

I hope we just pay him off in the summer and get shot, either that or offer him out for free so he's at least of the wage bill. With our tight budget he's holding us back. Our highest earner is now one of our most unwanted players, not a good place to be and sorry Daniel but this ones on you.

Isn't the cliche something along the lines of
madness = doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
Everyone knows how he was, and behaved, at the Scum, Citeh and Real Madrid, and yet Levy signed him and made him by far our highest paid player ever. He was, ultimately, hugely exasperating at those three clubs. Are we surprised that the same pattern has been repeated at Spurs?
I know he has his fans on here, but I HATE players that have obvious talent, but fail to apply it, and a lack of REAL desire. Look at the pride and passion displayed by Kane, Bentaleb and Mason when they pull on the shirt. Give me 11 of those on the pitch every week. Sooner he's gone the better, but I suspect we will have him until his contract is up.

I'm sure Levy would bite anybody's hand off who would take him for free, but he has a huge contract and won't budge unless another team matches it. Nobody in their right mind would entertain that.

Ok so I am not his biggest fan and think from a football stand point he should leave, as I would.
However, myself and most on here drag our arses out of bed (as Ade does), Go to work (as Ade does), put in just enough effort to get through the day (as Ade does), and pick up our wages at the end of the week/ month (as Ade does).
Not everyone enjoys their jobs but they do it anyway, maybe Adebayor isn't exactly in love with football and plays/works for the money rather than love (as most of us).
Would you leave one job, for another job (same job, different company) for less money??, possibly uprooting your family?? He has a young daughter who would have to change nursery/ school.
Would you leave??
Really??
OK you're shitting me right??

I don't like it, but I can't blame him

Frankly, bearing in mind his behaviour at his previous clubs, I doubt that anyone would actually sign him. I think in the summer we should drop him from the 1st team squad then pay up his contract at basic wages and no bonuses, and let me go. I know it would cost, but it would free up the space in the squad for someone who actually wants to play and not just take his money for doing nothing.

Yep you're probably right! Pay him off then I say. It's gonna cost about 4-5m but what's the point in keeping him, we'd still pay him the money over the season but would have a place in the squad taken up when it could be filled with someone useful.

I'm not a Levy knocker but I do agree this was a folly from the start and I thought so then. I think Levy will learn from this the same as we learnt from the Sol Campbell episode.

BAE recently had his contract 'cancelled' ie. 'released from his contract' - can we not do this with Ade, or am I missing something?

He'll be gone in the summer, 100%. Save this and shoot me if not.
It's especially funny that some of his followers argued during the Arsenal game that he wasn't in the squad because he would be so much better vs. Liverpool.

I thought his contract is up in the summer, so we don't have to worry about getting rid of him at all.

Bloody hell, this guy is exhausting. If it's a question of wages why didn't he just f*** off to Qatar? He gives us his spiel about 'being a professional' and that he's 'committed to his contract' but his behaviour just screams 'merc! merc! merc!'. Levy needs to cut his losses ASAP and just rip the band-aid off. I'd rather we get rid of him now, than endure another year plus of him being around.
