If the guy had goals he would one of the best strikers in the world!

Today, he was fantastic and I really hope this is turning things around for him. I've been one of his harsher critics recently but this is what we've been wanting from him and I hope it continues.

4 assists and a goal - MOTM for me today and that's when every player could well have deserved it and he did miss a few chances along the way!

No-one worked harder than he did today and he looked so much happier than of late.

Tiny bit frustrating he doesn't put that much effort in to every game he plays, but he showed today why we got him in. Still not entirely sure if I'd offer him a contract, he does have that habbit of fading away for clubs.

Great performance today. Hopefully this is the return of Ade, could really use another game like this against Arsenal.

If this guy starts today, I pray everybody watch him carefully.

At the end of the game, we'll see if my comments earlier were kneejerk-reactive, or damn close to the truth.

Let's see.

My, you really have excelled yourself, haven't you?

I dont know what Harry told him, but he's back. The adebayor we saw when he first turned up in a Spurs shirt is back with a bang. I really dont know how he can be so mediocre for 5-6 games and suddenyl turn up and become simply brilliant....what happened?

We play 4-4-2 and all of a sudden Adebayor has the game of his life and Saha scores twice.

Is VDV the weak link?

I wont necessarily say VDV is the weak link, but Ade does seem more at ease playing alongside a partner instead of having to play all alone up front. Something for Harry to ponder.

They all do. Crouch, Defoe, Pav, Adebayor, Saha. The goals seem to flow when there's two up top.

I love VDV. What a player he is, but you have to wonder if the overall team is benefitting. Our play is excellent, but our strikers seem to suffer goal droughts when he plays as a second striker.

442 or 433 or whatever is not the reason that Ade loses the ball in his feet or tries to curl the ball in the top corner when he should just smash it.
He just sometime tries to be a bit cute and messes up his chances. He will have on days and off days for us no matter what formation we play. Yes he gets a bit isolated at times when VDV drops deep, but he also drags the defenders out of position that creates chances for Bale/VDV etc...
At least we have a choice and if one isn't working we can change to the other.
Possibly the reason that Harry got Saha in the first place?

That isn't VDV's fault, he's made a fair amount of goals as we as scoring them, I fail to see how he of all people is a weak link.

Been saying this quite a while...

Last time we routed a team, two up top, Ade and Defoe.

We look so much better when Ade looks up and can see someone in the box.

Like i said like many others on this very thread earlier, give the man a break....wow was he unplayable.. he is one of those players that are so vital to the way we have been playing all season, but lastnite he was fucking unreal!!

Because we look more toothless with one up top. Do you not agree that every one of our strikers over the past two years has looked better when they've played with another striker instead of VDV?
