Anybody else notice the Algerian centre back a the World Cup - older more experienced player, was real quality: great reader of the game excellent positioning. Thought he might be another Naybet for us? Anybody else think so? I don't know his name or who he plays for, but somebody else no doubt will enlighten us ...

Hmm only 1? I was sure they had more and one... will make this research thing alot harder, if only we had a website that searched for us.

Wasn't Bougherra, I would have recognised him. Think it was Halliche - beard, looks older than he is (27). Apparently he was with Fulham for 2 years, but only played once. And has just signed for a Quatari club, so guess he's not available.

It reminds me a bit about my mother-in-law, she is an amazing mother-in-law, but she is also American. So she has been over here and watched Spurs on the telly, and she'll go "Great job, numer 3! Well done", "OH, number 42!!! Come on!" "Yes, number 5! This reminds me a bit about lacrosse, doesn't it? It IS like Lacrosse!"

Great point, well made.

There was another player at the World Cup who impressed me greatly actually who I thought played very much like a young Glenn Hoddle and I remember thinking "Spurs should put in a cheeky bid".

Did anyone else see him?

In his 20s, played in an outfield position and I'm almost certain he was wearing shorts.
