Why does everyone want a left back? We already have 2 of the best in the league

As dontcallme said. Bale is playing fantastic at LM

If anything happens to BAE (hope not) then we are forced to put Bale there. Getting in another LB means that they can come in and Bale can stay where he has been this season LM

The way we play Stefan Kiessling would be a good buy.

Thought he played as a second striker behind Derdiyok, whose their #9?

Anyone else reckon Santa Cruz could be a decent enough signing, providing Citeh play ball?

Definitely not. Moves like a tanker these days and was never great, even at his peak.

Bassong is pretty handy there too, more than capable back-up.

In:
Drogba (can play up front on his own)
Messi (can cover both sides)
Essien (cover for Hudd and Wilson)

Don't ask much really

Disagree with that, see him more like Berbatov. If I had my way our first buy would be Forlan, I only mentioned Stefan.K name because he is the type of player I would pay to watch.

Andy Carroll would be an immense signingy. Exactly what we need and is proving he can do it at this level - would have an immediate impact too and is right up Levy's street in terms of being young and English.

Personally I think he has a massive future, the only question is would he want to leave Newcastle?

We can forget about the likes of Dzeko, Gomez, Tevez and Llorente.

I'd be delighted to see Romelu Lukaku in a Spurs shirt.

We desperately need to upgrade Defoe and Pav, and that is certainly doable. Finding an uber striker who could replace their goals and Crouch's team play will be much harder but if one of those becomes available then that would be priority.

I wouldn't offload Crouch as he is different to the other three who are all basically variations of the same species. I'd offload - in this order - Kenae, Defoe, Pav - regardless of what type of striker we sign.

None of the other areas of the pitch are in such a dire need of upgrade so any other additions are made based on purely improving the quality we have.

Forget about him he's not leaving there for many years.

You would keep crouch and pav over defoe? Are you mental?

Or is it because pav has a kind happy face?

I cant help but feel your preferance towards Pav can only be un-football related. If we weren't getting goals from elsewhere then pav would have been hung out to dry ages ago. The fact he's scored a couple of important goals at the right time and has a cool song doesn't take away from the fact that he couldn't trap a bag of sand.

I don't think that is a sound argument. I like both Defoe and Pav but I am also well aware of the limitations of both, limitations that mean that neither are really good enough for where we want to go. However, while Defoe will score 20 goals in a season he will also spend most of his time in an offside position, go for many games without scoring and be next to useless against half decent defences. The great thing for Defoe is that this is generally accepted by Harry who will therefore give him a starting place and take the rough with the smooth.

Pav on the other hand is not given the same understanding. In my opinion he would comfortably score 20 goals in a season if he were to start most of them as he has that strikers instinct for being in the right place at the right time. On top of the typical service-based, poachers goals, pav would also score a good few through work he has done himself by virtue of the fact that he does possess that little something special on occasion. In addition, he can also score with his head.

Agreed, he is lazy, often has a very poor touch, doesn't have any pace and is fairly weak. However, is Defoe really any better? I would argue that Pav is every bit as good as Defoe and is in many ways a better, more natural finisher.

As I say, neither are really good enough, but to argue that Defoe is way better than Pav is imho ridiculous!

Both Pav and Defoe are inconsistent - I don't think anyone can argue with that tbh.

Pav is a more composed finisher but other than that Defoe beats him in every area - he is quicker, stronger, has a better touch and a better work ethic.

Pav seems very likeable but his god-like status at the Lane is a bit of a mystery tbh and I would rather he was sold before Defoe.
