Yes, please.

I’d love to get some more flair in the squad - it’s something we’re missing.

Ginola, Hoddle, Waddle, Lennon, etc... were all ‘bums off seat’ type of players.

ASM could have that sort of effect for us.

Imagine bringing him off the bench with 30 mins to go?

Based on our links to Diaz and Traore then I can see this one if the release clause is true

Totally agree! Him and Adama fall in a similar boat for me, ASM might have a higher ceiling though. I'd take both for the squad as well if moura and Bergwijn were to head out.

For the exact reasons you said if our first 11 and son/Kulu are firing great.. if not having two of the players that create the most off of dribbles in the world are welcome by me!

50/50 on it. Potential to do well and he does scare defenders.

This only gets done if the rumours about a CL release clause are true. Can't see Newcastle letting him leave otherwise. I'd be excited by the transfer but I'd rather just not sell Bergwijn.

At that price I'd be all for it. He has his limitations, but he's a chaos maker, and I think that's something we desperately need against certain opponents. He's also fairly versatile in terms of ability to play across the front three.

If he's happy to accept being a squad player and with 5 subs from next season, he could still get plenty of game time. Bergwijn goes and he comes in for what is a steal in my opinion.

Would love this one to be true. Defenders must hate playing against someone like him, only going to get better as well.

I think its more of a case that Stevie wants to leave, otherwise I'm sure we would keep him

He'll frustrate the hell out of players like Kane and son, he doesn't know what he's going to do with the ball so how can they read what he's going to do. Given Conte is so big on attacking patterns I just can't see this one happening, ASM plays too much off the cuff to fit into that.

I like the Traore comparison - ASM is similar IMO, with a bit less raw athleticism and a bit more quality on the ball (albeit on one foot).

The linked article sort of assumes he'd be playing across the front line, but might he someone Conte looks to convert to RWB? Total speculation, but between the lack of available targets relative to LWB (we're not getting Hakimi and Spence et. al. seem to be more younger/upside targets) and the fact that we had previously been linked with Traore for that role, I wonder if that isn't part of the thinking behind this link (if true).

EDIT: not much in his fbref stats to suggest he'd be a plus defender - though I wonder how much he was asked to actually do at Newcastle. He does seem to have a good engine.

If we want a pure wildcard option there aren't many better players to cause chaos and create space for others. Would massively prefer him over Traore filling that type of role in the squad.

I'm guessing the release cause is somewhere around 40m? Feel like that's the absolute limit of what he's currently worth and we shouldn't pay any more than that, really.

Feels like a bit of a luxury transfer so wouldn't prioritise it. Best to do towards the end if we still have money left over once other positions have been filled

If this is a case of Bergjwin out ASM in then why not. No way Newcastle sell though so he either has a release clause or it’s pie in the sky stuff.

This guy and Scamacca in and our attack would look strong.

ASM wouldn’t be top of my list though

Not wanting Dybala and going for ASM makes no sense to me. ASM is a fantastic youtube player but he really isn't much of an upgrade at all on Bergwijn. Would rather keep Bergwijn or bring in Terrier. Not that i think this will happen, im sure Newcastle will offer him the big bux and renew his contract.

Maybe Conte can coach that into him? He has always been the big man at Newcastle and so allowed to do what he wants on the pitch. Here he'll be taught attacking patterns of play, when to release the pass, when to run etc. I think if we get the balnce right he could be a dangerous option off the bench.

The richest club in the world is about to sell their 2nd best player (who has 4 years to run on his contract) to a rival. Sounds plausible .

He’s a show pony. Head down and plays for himself. Don’t see how he gels with our attack that is built in the relationship between Son, Kane and now Kulusevski. I think he’s a proper YouTube highlights player and doesn’t elevate a top side. Unless he is wanted as a pure impact player to run at tired legs in which case he’d just be a more luxury Lucas.
