Reports coming out of Spain claim that Tottenham Hotspur have renewed their interest in Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata. The Spanish U21 international was linked with the North London club at the end of last year when Andre Villas Boas was still in charge.
Fichajes have reported today that Tottenham are in the chase for Morata along with Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan. It has been claimed that the two Italian sides are in pole position to sign the Spaniard and as a result Tottenham are going to step up in their bid to sign him.
If all is correct, Tottenham in the next coming days will contact Real Madrid regarding the forward and will offer him a long term contract to come to the Premier League on a permanent basis. It is reckoned that both Juventus and Inter Milan only want to take Morata on a loan basis which could be favourable to Madrid and the player so Spurs will have to get around that one. However, Madrid won't loan Morata out if he doesn't extend his contract, which ends in 2015, and he's shown no sign of being willing to do so.
Last November Tottenham were keen to take the 21 year old on loan in the winter transfer window. The Daily Mail reported at the time that the loan deal could only happen if Real Madrid were able to sign a new forward in the January transfer window. Real Madrid failed to bring in anybody in during the window and therefore Morata stayed in the Spanish capital.
Morata has grown frustrated at the lack of playing time he has had this season. Despite only having one recognised centre forward in Karim Benezma he has rarely got a start in the first team
