Khan has upperhand at the moment...Barrera is cut although not sure if that was clash or heads or a punch.

Either way Khan is edging it at the moment...Khan is defending well at the moment.

Round one: Khan makes the better start, catching Barrera with some accuarate combinations. His reach advantage and hand speed trouble the Mexican who is clearly rattled. A fine right hook from Khan catches Barrera whose legs wobble. A clash of heads soon after cuts Barrera. The bell can't come soon enough for Barrera who ends the fight in the ropes. What a start from Khan.

Round two: Khan starts the second as he ended the first, attacking Barrera with some lethal shots. Blood is pouring down the left cheek of Barrera who has nothing in response to Khan's barrage of punches. It's a fine start from Khan who takes a left hook towards the end of the round but he lands the cleaner shots in the second round. Khan is also cut it would appear from that clash of heads in the first.

Round three: The referee takes a long look at Barrera in between the round. The cut is a bad one and it's impairing his ability to see Khan's shot. It's all Khan in the third round and he looks hungy and composed. Khan rattles Barrera with a five punch combination. The round ends and Barrera's face is covered in blood.

Hmm, not sure. Need to see him against a top opponent really before we start getting carried away.

Khan destroyed him yay!

Barrera got destroyed by an accidental clash of heads. Yes Kahn beat what was infront of him, but I definitely wasn't convinced. Needs to be fighting people that are a much bigger challenge.

Most people wrote Kahn off before this fight. He deserves credit, Barrera IS a top opponent there is no doubt about that. khan beat him fair and square.

I think Khan's destined to divide opinion for the duration of his career. Unfairly in most cases, he's got all the tools to move up to World Level, with speed and technical ability. Barrera is a good scalp to have on your record and though the stoppage was controversial he outboxed the Mexican fighter for all five rounds.

However, thus far he has dodged all the big domestic (and european) contenders. I have no idea why he hasn't fought even one of the higher ranked British fighters or even the current European Champion.

Barrera WAS a top opponent. He's not at world class level any more.

No he didn't beat him fair and square. Barrera was at no stage in danger of being stopped from any of Khan's punches. Who's to say how the fight would've developed in the latter stages when Khan slowed up a bit? Barrera was coming into the fight if anything when it got stopped. Because of a cut - not Khan's punches.

I tend to think that fate played a huge part in this match.
Accidental head butt, caused a cut, which eventually the docs stopped because of.

Hardly a win by boxing.

Khan, is a good fighter, very good in fact, but he is dodgy on the chin, he gets whacked again, is when we find out how tough he has got, but, you cannot train to take a punch though.

This figher was way past his best, great manager ;-)

Naaah mate. It wasnt a case of Barrera coming into the match. Barrera admitted it himself, he knew the fight was going to get called at any minute, so any remaining hope he had of winning resulted in him going gung ho on Khan - so it looked like he was coming into the fight, when in actual fact, he was being more agressive in a desperate attempt to stop himself from losing.

Yes it was an unfortunate collision of heads, but Khan's punching only loosened the wound, helping the blood poor out and resulting in the doctors decision.

Khan looked the better fighter, he stuck to his game plan, and at the end of the day - a win is a win.

Definitely not a win by boxing a clash of heads resulted in a wound that was just as bad in the first as it was in the 5th, its very fishy that they let it go to the 5th...

Khan never looked like knocking a one-eyed Barrera down.

If fair is a wound opened by an illegal clash of heads then great, Amir for champion.

I don't care what people think. Khan showed excellent technique and speed in that ring, regardless of the clash of heads, so stop using it as an excuse.
Khan was dominating Barrera, it's as simple as that. YES, Barrera is past it, but Khan can only beat who is put in front of him, and he did so with ease.
Excellent display from the youngster.
