Not a knee jerk to today. But talking in general, Ive never been convinced by our full backs. The way that we play we have them almost as wingers. But the problem is, neither of Rose or Walker can cross a ball.

if we are to make chances and possession count. We really need people that can deliver a ball from wide. If Bale had even a third of the crossing chances Rose had today we would have won. The number of times we hit the first man or over hit the back post was infuriating.

I understand your point, but we have a great rotation that has provided us with a chance to be consistent no matter the team we put out.

The final ball? Yes it needs to get better, but I would also guess that many teams fail to convert on crosses.

For me we play very narrow through the middle. Which I love, but we need to continue to gel so that we can get some of the Barcelona break downs.

I don't want to say we are modeling Barca, but many a goal they create come from their class and the one, two, three.

We are struggling to get that flow in the middle. Eriksen isn't a Xavi / Iniesta and if we can find someone in that mold, I think we will start to see more goals coming from our possession.

Is silva avail? Dreams can come true can't they?

But you must have noticed the delivery between Payets corners and ours? Every single one had me on the edge of my seat. Whereas we hit most of ours to the keeper or first man.

What we need is a dynamic goal-scoring player with the ability to also pick a pass. Someone in the mold of Griezmann/Mahrez/Reus is what is between us and truly being an elite team. Son was supposed to help fill in that gap a bit, but has had a very poor first season in the league and Njie, who has proven very little in top flight football, has been injured all season and doesn't have the technical skills to be that player. Fortunately, we'll have a lot of money this summer to spend, so there'll be no excuses not to get a Lacazette/Batshuayi type hybrid forward who can chip in with 10-15 league goals next season.

Agreed.Someone with a bit of individual brilliance is the type of player your on about.Griezmann would be the one for me, but we wouldn't pay his transfer fee or wages

I think Poch sees our fullbacks as work in progress. He's moulding them for future seasons.

Fullbacks could be improved upon but not our priority in my opinion. We need better attacking midfielders, such as a payet or Mahrez this season

Good one, Einstein. You rapier wit. It's a dumb thread. Our full backs has been one of our key strengths this year.

Thanks.

They have done great things but they are still learning their trade. They still make mistakes that more experienced fullbacks wouldn't have made.

So it's not a dumb thread.

Poch is investing in their potential.

You mentioned our full backs. But yes, Payet has a very nice ball.

Personally I think these guys will all have improved by next season.

Poch has that impact.

Really think this is not far off the last area in need of reinforcement. None of our four fullbacks are perfect but it's difficult to see who we could sign that would be an obvious improvement nor which teams in the league have a stronger set than we. There's a dearth of good fullbacks out there at this time.

I hope to see KWP make a breakthrough within the next 18 months but beyond that I'll be happy to hold onto the four we have for the long term.

So you're giving up on Son then? At the rate Poch improves players I fully expect him to top class next season.

I completely get the point, but it's not a priority and our full backs will improve. It's in the final third where I think things really need an adjustment.
