I've been crying out for a decent midfield passer for ages. But I am a bit worried about his lack of pace. Can't say I thought he was anything amazing at the euros either.

They go on to say that he does have good technical ability and vision but makes boneheaded passes multiple times a game. He 'has the shittiest movement of any midfielder in La Liga, he runs like he's been f'd up the ass during halftime' and would not have a good time adjusting to the pace and physicality of the Premier League. They say that he wants to play defense like Ozil but plays offense like a defender, very slow!

Guys, I'm sure he has ability but this is striking me as quite questionable.

What are their thoughts on the performances of Rakitic and Busquets last season? Cos both those two were absolute piles of shite too. No idea how good Gomes will be here but overly judging a 23yr old who's first year came at time when Barca were all over the shop seems harsh.

Come on ask opinion of dier .50% will say worst player to ever wear Spurs shirt.the rest he's magnificent.Maybe Gomes is just one of those players that splits opinion.And let's be honest a 4/10 Barca midfielder becomes a 7.5/10 spurs midfielder.Just imagine the comments if dier was in Barca midfield,trust me they'd be a lot worse.

He's not rapid but he's certainly no slouch and has a good turn of speed over a few yards. Think he'll be a very decent aquisition.

Nah, they were not. I watch Barcelona regularly. I must've missed only 10 games last season counting all competitions.

If you think Rakitic and Busquets were shit, Andre Gomes was an amateur. He was by far their worst player

It's hard to thrive in an environment where there is huge amounts of pressure and when the situation is not great. Barcelona were a shadow of the team we know last season, they still smashed teams but all was not well there. Can't have been easy for him to find his feet.

He can do all that. That's obvious, or else he wouldn't even be a professional player. But he's been absolutely terrible for Barcelona. Worst than Sissoko and Paulinho for us.

He's rather versatile. Wouldn't want him on the wings (but he has played there). He also came on and played RB in the Copa del Rey Final after Mascherano went off in the first 15 or so minutes with an injury. I think he would do well with a guy like Wanyama next to him and have him sit in the more advanced role of the two.

They like busquets but admit that the midfield was poor and perhaps Gomes wasn't ready for Barca.

That being said, in response to people not wanting to believe this stuff.. I'm just passing opinions along.

I agree..I just think when fans go to total extremes, it clouds my judgement with doubt.
