And seemingly the majority of his other matches didn't spring to your mind?

How many premier league appearances has he made this season? three 10 to 20 minute sub appearances?

Yep I'm afraid those 2 other cameo appearances don't spring to mind

Why would you only take the sample size from this season?

Because we played Leicester in a premier league game and I stated we could've used the option of him in the premier league against a team sitting deep as so to stretch their defence.

You asked when he did that before, and I told you. Sunderland away.

BBC
'only once lamela and townsend came on did the visitors provide some bite up front

Independent.
'advocaat did concrete that the team tired, the introduction of andros townsend stretching the game '

Guardian.
'spurs improved considerably after the introduction of lamela and townsend. Townsend on for son causes aanholt all sorts of problems '

Espn.
' with sub andros townsend starting to.make the visitors tick'

Rest my case.

I don't think andros is great or even very good but like I said he's an option to have against teams that have no intention of attacking.

The problem with Townsend is you bring him on, he has a hot last 20 mins which leads to him starting the next 2-3 games and he reverts back to being diabolical again.

But we've played against teams sitting deep in the Premier league before this season and we've struggled to open up defences regardless of whether Townsend was playing or not, more so Andros Townsend isn't the type of player to unlock a defence with quick thinking anyway... you know that, everyone knows that so there's no guarantees that he would come in and make a difference.

So yeah one game against Sunderland doesn't mean that he'd do the same against Leicester particularly when he's has been pretty average in the majority of matches he's played so your evidence doesn't stack up...

So no case not rested at all..

Against Dick Advocaat's shit Sunderland.
They may still be shit, but it's now Big Sam's shit Sunderland, playing a different way.

Would love to see Townsend go to Newcastle. If only so he could be reunited with his long lost twin brother Gabriel Obertan.

@SkySportsNewsHQ: Newcastle in talks with Tottenham to sign winger Andros Townsend.

@SkySportsLyall: Clubs will try and negotiate a permanent deal. Levy wants 14 million. remains to be seen if he will get it.

@donhutch4: Next signing in for Newcastle (no names) but his surname starts with TOWN and ends with END.

I happen to think that Andros Townsend is a terrific player. A real competitor. He's done well for Spurs (and England) in the past. The coach doesn't seem to rate him. Too bad. That's Pochettino's decision and the coach has done well this season so well done him. But that doesn't make Townsend a bad player. It just means that this coach doesn't rate him. Your comments from the various media of his impact on a past Sunderland game are well taken. I wish Andros well in the future. It's just a shame that he couldn't develop his career further here. Don't rate him and never have. He has ability like that kid in the playground has ability but has no idea of team play and never showed any sign of learning. He can do a job for someone but he's the exact opposite of the type of mentality we are using under Poch. He seems to be a decent, well intentioned lad but he's Newcastle level - not for us. Anything north of £10 mill and we should grab it.

Surely if goes for around £12 million we will get Berahino?

Would basically cover the cost if we sell Fazio too.
