Tbh I'm sad to see Townsend go.

Wish him the best of luck and hope he truly fulfils he's undoubted potential.

The doors always open....he's one of our own

Was never gunna happen for him here but I think there's a lot of talent in there somewhere and Newcastle fans are gunna love him. Hope he gets a good reception when he returns to WHL (if they manage to stay up that is).

Sorry to see Andros leave - always remember his debut maybe 5 years ago when he got MOTM and a good goal, and it looked as if Spurs had produced its best attacking player for maybe 20+ years from the Academy.

Alas the standard of players Spurs want (and indeed the style of player has changed) has increased big time since his debut such that Andros no longer has a place at Spurs, but best of luck for the future, Think he'll do better at Newcastle where the playing standard has not moved on from where Spurs were - and the fans still appreciate a flying winger.

So best of luck to him - and thanks for the £12m, not an insignificant sum for an Academy product who cost us nothing. Underlines the value of the Spurs youth set up when we keep the players we want (Kane, Bentaleb, Mason, Rose, Carroll and likely Pritchard and Onomah being the next two), whilst selling the likes of Townsend (£12m), Caulker (£10m), Livermore £6m.....)

Always sad to see someone who cares so much about this great club leave, however he really doesn't fit into our plans and deserves the chance to revive his career

Good luck to him, seems a good guy and shame it didn't work out. 12m is a good fee and I hope he can get back into the England team where he has found his niche!

Going to be so Spursy when he hits the winner when we play them to stop us winning the league/getting 4th.
Being more realistic, the more likely winner he'd hit is Aguero/vardy in the face.... When he launches one out the stadium against us. (not saying we can't win)

jokes aside Good luck to him. I remember raving about him when he was at QPR saying how I wish we had his directness and I couldn't wait to watch him play for spurs. But obviously just certain factors didn't work out for him and hopefully Newcastle suits him a bit better

Hi Donk, you should know me by now, in the last few years I have given many neg reps although I have only ever given 1 neg rep, that was justified to a twat.

All the others were caused by my fat fingering the right hand side of the IPad. I scroll with my right and as a result I inadvertently smite folk with 'doh's' and 'spams' etc.

Sincere apologies from a senile old bugger.

I do a sweep a couple of times a week to remove the bad stuff.

I do the same.
I think things would be easier if the spams, dogs, etc., were moved further left.

I wish him the best of luck at Newcastle.

Yes, he could be frustrating at times but he loves Spurs as much as we do so I hope he has a good career.

All the best Andros.

When a player leaves that really does love our club it is always sad and I genuinely want him to do well in Newcastle. It is shame that it didn't work out for him. Good player and can certainly have a career in the prem league.

As mentioned he made a silly mistake through frustration and seemed to have learnt from the incident so fair play to the guy.

Good luck Andros you will always be a yiddo

Best of luck to him. Kind of sad that he couldn't make it work at his boyhood club. Newcastle will be good for him, he can make something of himself there and he should get plenty of football to rebuild his reputation.

Good deal for everyone I think. He can do things for Newcastle.
That last tweet was surprisingly honest for a footballer these days. Not even one sponsored hashtag. Respect.

Would love to hear a last "he's one of our own" chant next time we play him - he's earned it for his devotion to the club if nothing else.
Best of luck to him.

Come on, let's be serious. We have robbed Newcastle. Great lad but absolutely no way is he worth anywhere near £12 million. He can't even get a bench role for us. Its a mad price.
